we previously tried blanco court from northpoint city (yishun) & were rly impressed by the food, so we excitedly visited their outlet at 18TS, but were sorely disappointed this round. not only was the staff's attitude abrasive & aloof, simply not responding when we tried to place an order at the cashier, the beef slices given to us were full of veins that couldn't be chewed :-( the sauce was also much less flavourful. that being said, the soup was still super good. if you'd still wanna visit, i would recommend giving the mala beef noodles a miss (we ordered that since it was one of the burpple beyond options) & sticking to their standard beef noodles. otherwise, you might enjoy their food better at northpoint instead 😊
Slice beef noodle (S), beef ball noodles (S) sides cuttlefish fritters (not nice), tiger prawn roll (taste ok) 2 glasses drinks (good calamsansi, wintermelon too sweet). The beef balls are flat, not crunchy. Sliced beef so thin and only a miserable 5 pieces. The chilli sauce is the best item that day (31 January 2023)
I wanted to try this chain to put an end to the fuss. I considered shank and tendon but went safe. Given it's the most basic beef, it's very good. Some flavour and tender. Soup was up to expectations. The other components were all elegant.
Food tastes good, and is priced very reasonably with the deal.
The Spicy Mala Beef Noodles were flavourful and had a kick to it. The broth was extremely beefy and enjoyable. Our noodles each came with a side and a drink. The Fish Beancurd was a tad oily, but very delicious. Service was great - my partner dropped a few slices of fish beancurd onto the floor while collecting the food, and the staff immediately went to fry up a few more pieces of it for us 🥹 will come back 💯 !
Ordered:
-2 beef noodles (one soup, one dry)
-2 sides (Fried Chicken wing, Prawn roll)
-2 drinks (Honey Lemon, Sour Plum)
($22 nett after Burpple 1-for-1)
4.5⭐️/5 Beef noodles(Dry)
3⭐️/5 Beef noodles(Soup)
Beef noodles can be ordered with a choice of soup or dry and rice or thick bee hoon or kway teow. I am a little biased towards the dry one and I feel it is much better. For the dry one, the beef coated with the gravy with a little squeeze of lime is like perfection and it comes with a soup which tasted richer without the noodles cooked in it. The soup version is still nice but the noodles turn soggy easily.
4⭐️/5 Chicken Wing
This side contains 2 chicken wings. The prawn paste marination is well coated and seasoned which gives every bite a flavourful juicy chicken meat. The only complain I have is that it is quite oily otherwise, it is superb.
3.5⭐️/5 Prawn Roll
This is side is like a Ngo Hiang which contains mince meat and prawn. There were some bits of water chestnut too if I am not wrong which give it a little crunchy texture. Like the chicken wing, it is quite oily as well. Otherwise, still a good side.
?⭐️/5 Honey Lemon
Just a good cup of honey lemon
?⭐️/5 Sour Plum
Too sweet
