Accompanied with baked in house bread 🍞 and XO butter. The butter was as light as whipped cream which melted almost immediately on the pipping hot fluffy crusty bread.

Presented on a bed of seaweed, I feel like I ate this clam fresh off a magical beach where seawater is full of earthy umami goodness and the aerated cream blends the flavors together without detracting from the freshness of this dish. I’m staying at this magical beach. #burpple #blackwattlesg
The octopus was very tender yet had a nice bite to it. That combination of the fennel and ink (black sauce) with the XO and red vinegar (clear orangey sauce) took this dish to another level - there was a clear ‘asianness’ about this clever combination of ingredients that’s tangy and savory all at once. I could not help wiping the plate clean of the sauces even after all the octopus was finished. A must try when you are at @blackwattle_sg!
