Donโ€™t eat soupy prawn mee often (Iโ€™m a bigger fan of the fried hokkien ones), but these ones are simply a must try. Rich stock and seriously large prawns that have been sliced in half for easier consumption, this bowl makes for a comforting lunch, even if it wonโ€™t fill you up entirely. You can add portions of abalone, pork skin, and pork rib if youโ€™d like. Worth the queue, though Iโ€™d still suggest heading over around 11-ish before the crowd builds up. This soupy goodness will set you back anywhere between $4-8 depending on your order and add-ons.

The ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ ๐—ฅ๐—ถ๐—ฏ๐˜€ ๐—ก๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—น๐—ฒ ($5.50) was very good as well. There were five pieces of pork ribs, which were sizeable and fall-off-the-bone tender. If there's one area of improvement, a greater amount of kang kong in each bowl would've been ideal.

A very good bowl of ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ and I wouldn't mind returning for more.

I like simplicity in a name; you don't have to second guess what it's about. For example: The Walking Dead (a show about zombies), Godzilla vs Kong (a movie about a giant lizard fighting a giant ape) and Lost (a show about people with no GPS). So I knew what I was in for when I joined the queue at Big Prawn Noodle.

The ๐—•๐—ถ๐—ด ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜„๐—ป ๐—ก๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—น๐—ฒ came in three sizes: $5.50, $7.00 and $9.00. If you feel like splurging, there's also the Extra Big Prawn Noodle for $13.80 (only one size). I opted for the $7 portion of the Big Prawn Noodle.

I counted seven halves of big prawns floating in the bowl of orange-coloured soup. The soup carried a robust, crustacean flavour with an inherent sweetness. It was ๐˜จ๐˜ข๐˜ฐ (concentrated) enough to garner our approval. The prawns were also fresh and crunchy.

A delicious bowl of prawn noodles, in light but very flavourful broth, a gem in Sengkang.

Dry Pork Ribs Prawn Noodle ($6)

Go for the Pork Ribs Prawn Noodle (Dry) if you want something spicy with an umami-overloaded bowl of soup. The noodles are well coated with (not too spicy) chilli, pork ribs are soft, tender and fall off the bone. I also like the fried shallots used here which are slightly burnt while retaining the crunch and of course not forgetting the highlight of this dish - A bowl of very โ€œgaoโ€ (thick) soup filled with umami goodness that lingers around and left me wanting more!
