Love the Ayam Kalio and Rendang Daging. The curry gravy is so good that I finish it all!
Really delightful Nasi Ambeng made for 3 pax but it can definitely feed 4 people comfortably! Generous portions without compromising taste
Always comforting and comes with a chock full of ingredients that will definitely set you back on a fast rising food coma, the Ambeng Original Duo Set A ($24) is for 2 pax but I believe a 3 person stomach space will be sufficient too. Consisting of Rice, Ayam Kalio, Beef Rendang, Sambal Goreng, Urap Kencur, Terung Garem Asam, Telur Belado, Begedel, Paru, Serunding and Sambal Balachan, it is like a medley of colours that will whet your appetite instantly. My favourites are the beef rendang and paru (beef lungs) which both are absolutely delish and go so well with the rice. Highly recommended place for a uber satisfying meal.

Nothing says family dining like eating off the same platter, and what a feast it would be at this unpretentious East-side eatery! The signature Nasi Ambeng Sahan Sets (from $24 for two) are the star here, and a no-brainer way to decide what to eat — perfect for large families who can never agree on what to order. Expect a large portion of rice, combined with at least eight classic Malay sides like chicken in spiced coconut gravy (chicken kalio), fried potato patties (begedil) and killer sambal belachan. Portions are very generous so it is best you order modestly — the Ambeng Classic Trio ($48) can easily feed four people instead of their suggested three. There are also single portion sets (from $7) available.
Avg price: $12 per person
For $24, this was definitely worth it & the asam jawa drink is terantokkkkk hehe! Definitely not the last time here☺️ For those looking for Malay dishes, this is the place to go.
A feast. Different tastes and texture all in one tray. The beef rendang was tender. The fried paru had just the right amount of spice. The lemak chili padi chicken was not too spicy, just the way I like it. Add vegetable keropok (from the kid's meal) and teh 'o and the meal was perfect! This cafe has served consistently good food. My only grouse was, there was not enough ulam or salad. I will ask for more kacang botok or winged bean the next time.
