Shanghai’s famous Chongqing Bullfrog hotpot Ge Lao Guan Ge Lao Guan 哥老官 is now in Singapore!
They specialise in spicy hotpot with tender juicy bullfrogs🐸! Meal was packed with rich flavours!🔥
You can order ala carte or buffet style here. Here is what we got:
-Sichuan Spicy Broth and Shanghai Tomato Broth
-Bull Frog: Where else can you find bullfrog in hotpot! This is a total must order!
-50 cm long Crispy Pork Strips: Be wow-ed by this when it is served!
-Fried egg with pickled mustard: Recommend to dip this in the tomato soap for a few seconds!
-Tiger Prawn: Huge and fresh! The staff even helped us to peel the prawns! Great service!
-Dried Scallop and salted egg yolk prawn paste
-Gong Choi Black Pork Meatball
-Spanish Pork Slice
-Assorted Vegetable Platter
-Century Ice Jelly: Finish off the meal with this dessert!
-Strawberry Bliss
-Pineapple Jasmine Lemon Tea
We had such an enjoyable dining experience here!
You can make your own chilli sauce dip at the condiment bar. There is free flow fruits and ice cream too!
-Blueberry Roasted Oolong Tea ($8.50+): Many reviews recommended this so we got it to try! Comes with fresh blueberries. It was not as sweet as I expected,
-Iced Matcha Latte: Niko Neyko Yuri Matcha is used here! Felt that the matcha can be stronger though!
Cafehopping in Beauty World Area!
No seat reservations allowed, so we waited awhile to be seated. Here is what we ordered:
-Signature Breakfast ($25+): Huge portion! Recommended to share if you are not a big eater. This is the kinda of big breakfast I love, because there is butter croissant (and not the typical hard toasts). Loved the chicken sausage, sauteed mushrooms and scrambled egg too! There is also turkey ham which I was not a fan of
-Creamy Tom Yum Seafood Pasta ($22+): Creamy, spicy and tangy! Prawns were fresh. Comes with five clams. I felt that the seafood portions given were too little, especially the number of clams? (Also the number of clams differ from what is in their menu photo LOL)

The first OYSTER ramen store in Singapore, from Osaka Japan has opened at Westgate!
Got their special ramen set, which includes a bowl of ramen and two pieces of meat beef sushi! We tried the following two ramen:
-Slow-Cooked Oyster Broth (Koeru)
-Clear Soup Oyster Based Broth (Ikasu)
The ramen noodle is chewy, thick and flat! Broth was rice and umami packed! The meat beef sushi was melt in your mouth! The smoked egg is flavoured with white oak!
Japan’s No.1 Popular Cheese Curry Bread! Crispy fluffy bun that is stuffed with flavourful curry and gooey stretchy cheese! Do note that it contains pork and beef)
From sweet to savoury! Many choices of bagels to choose from
Pawa Bakery specialising in unique and decadent pastries!
Bagels are Low Sugar and Low calories! Besides bagels, they also sell sourdough bread, toasts and also other bread like Shio Pan!

Second time at Buta Kin!
This time trying their japanese curry rice too!
-Pork Tonkatsu Curry Rice ($6.80)
-Special Black Garlic Ramen ($9)
The food was all prepared hot! A freshly fried pork tonkotsu provides for a hearty and satisfying meal! Though I would have preferred if they could give more pieces of potatoes/carrots for the curry!

Best matcha I have ever tried in Singapore!
Read rave reviews about this place so we were here to try! This coffeehouse was sooo crowded even on a late weekend afternoon (jus ~30mins before closing time)! Was shocked by the amount of crowd here!
Got the signature iced matcha creamu ($8.9)
Very interesting drink! Was recommended to eat the cream by itself with the spoon provided first! the matcha latte was thick and the sweetness and bitterness were nicely balanced! Thoroughly enjoyed this cup of iced matcha, I must say one of the better ones I have ever had in Singapore! Take my money!!
My only gripe about this place is the lack of seats (we actually sat at the seats next door that belonged to another restaurant that was closed then)

If you are craving for quality chinese dishes, head to @suhanggourmet !
Located in the heart of Bugis, Suhang Xiangban 苏杭湘伴 is the spot for authentic Chinese food. Their menu features signature dishes from Jiangsu, Hunan, and Sichuan cuisines!
Here is what we got:
-Homestyle signature farm-style stir fried pork
-Homemade shredded cabbage
-Cherry Tomatoes in Lychee Sauce
-Signature Sichuan Yummy Chicken
-Kumquat Lemon Tea
-Grape Mulberry Juice
The stir fry pork was nicely marinated! The sichuan sichuan chicken was soo tender! The cherry tomatoes in lychee sauce was quite a special cold dish item! It had a slight chewy texture, almost jelly gummy like, totally different from what you will expect as a cherry tomato! Try it out!
