Not my first time eating top 1 homemade noodles! Super love the dry banmian with chilli! It comes with a few minced meat balls, pork balls and stewed mushrooms. Top up $2 for 4 pieces of imitation abalone slices!

The chilli is spicy! No need to top up 30 cents for additional chilli.

They were open on sunday, though google map indicated they were closed on sundays. The queue wait was around 20-25mins on a sunday late morning

Pineapple Yoghurt Chiffon Cake ($5.50) from @nineteenniche !

They sell many uniquely flavoured chiffon cakes here!

The chiffon cake was so soft and moist. The pineapple taste was quite faint though. I would have preferred if the pineapple taste was stronger!

If you have been wanting to try the famous Ngee Ann Poly hotplate egg omelette, now is the time to try as the original cook has opened a new rival stall at Beauty World food centre! This location is now much more accessible and nearer to the mrt!

We got the tori karage ($5.5) and fried fish ($5.5) fuyong rice. Top up $1.50 for salmon miso soup! (The price is slightly more ex than the original ngee ann poly stall though)

The fluffy omelette is served on a hotplate and is omelette made with two eggs! It is topped with a brown glaze!

While everything was well executed, it didnt completely wow us and I think it isnt something that I will crave for again. It was also on the dryer side hence we went back to order the salmon miso soup top up! But still good to try at least once if you are in the beauty world area!

@thatsmypizza at Bukit Timah Food Centre!

Was there recently for dinner and chanced upon this pizza stall with quite a few people waiting around for their pizzas! Took one walk round the food centre and didnt fancy any other food, so decided to give the pizzas a go! They have many pretty interesting and unique pizza flavour choices!

Initially wanted to order the tomato base applewood bacon pizza ($22), but they ran out of the bacon by the time it was our order, so we settled for our next choice instead which was the Special Base Japanese Chashu Kurobuta Pork ($28)

It was a 30mins plus wait on a weekday evening!

Their pizzas are handstretched and goes through a long fermentation process before being fire baked! The pizza has a chewier texture than normal pizzas, and there is a slight char on the crust!

Will be back again to try the Applewood Bacon!

-Korean Abalone ($48): Goes super well with the special chilli sauce dip given for this dish!

-Marinated Crab ($68): This was my first time trying marinated crab. Very interesting jelly like texture. The marinated crab was sweet!

Sizzling hotplate western food from @bbsizzling !

Featured here are the following items:
Signature cornflakes chicken ($8.90) - The signature cornflake chicken caught my attention! This came with a side of crispy fries and with coleslaw. I love how the chicken thigh was crusted in a super crispy layer! Juicy fried chicken! A very large portion too! The fries were also super crispy, fried to golden brown colour. Came with curry/chilli powder dusted on it to give the fries more kick, super like it!
Mentaiko grilled salmon fillet ($14.90) - This was served in a sizzling hot plate and it continued sizzling for quite awhile more after serving to keep the food warm! The salmon was grilled to perfection with crispy salmon skin and tender fresh salmon. Went well with the mentaiko sauce! Comes with crispy fries and a healthy sides of broccoli.
Check them out at Beauty World Centre (144 Bukit Timah Road) 04-25 ! A good meal to recoup energy after your hikes nearby at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve / Macritchie Reservoir. They also have another outlet at NTU canteen 14 for those staying further west!

Rooftop garden korean food dining experience at @pinkcandy.sg !

They are part of the hawker centre, so you will have to stand around and hover over ppl who are about to leave to get your seats.

Besides the nice al fresco dining vibes with nice sunset view, I was pleasantly surprised by the food! I had actually lowered my expectations because I read some negative/average reviews for some particular items.

Ginseng Chicken Noodle Soup ($29.90): This contains half a chicken, and is good for 2-3 pax! We were actually quite surprised that there was UDON noodles in it! (Because the signboard was blocked by the bowls so we thought it was only ginseng chicken soup lol!) The soup contained tender soft chicken, dumplings, mushrooms, Tteok-bokki and beancurd! Oh, we were also surprised that it was served hot pot style! We thought it would just be in a stainless steel bowl. The hot pot style serving kept the soup pipping hot, so it was super delicious!

Seafood tofu soup ($12.90): This came with 2-3 fresh prawns, soft jiggly tofu, some clams and squid! The Sundubu-jjigae soup base was so good! This comes with a bowl of irce

Soy Sauce Chicken Wings ($14.90): 9 pieces, but they actually mean 4.5 wings if you get what i mean. This was quite nice, crispy batter and just at the right marination! (This was so much better than some other chicken wings from a famed korean stall in the aljunied mrt area which had thick batter that felt like it was refried many times!)
The bill amounted up to almost $60 for a 4 pax portion (plus additional order of 2 plain rice). If there is only one things that you can order, I will strongly recommend to try the ginseng chicken noodle soup stew!!

They also advertise themselves as serving korea homemade style food with NO MSG! Which I turned out to be quite true, as we were not super thirsty after the meal!

Fried porridge! This is quite a new and unknown dish! I have heard lots about Old World Bak Kut Teh and have been wanting to eat it but havent had the opportunity to do so. Happened to be around Beauty World area and a quick search on the internet recommended me to try this fried porridge from Feng Xiang Bak Kut Teh so here i am!

Featured here is the FX Pork Cutlet Fried Porridge ($6.90)! The fried porridge was cooked with big fire flames, so the wok hei is super gao! It reminded me about the burnt taste that i experienced from the fire ramen restaurant at somerset, but this burnt taste wasnt as smelly as the ramen one. The wok hei taste here gave it a knotch of flavourful smoky taste! I love the silky smooth porridge here! Also special mention to the fried pork cutlet! It was marinated to perfection, juicy and flavourful! Would have preferred if more fried pork cutlet portions were given! (I had to ration it with my fried porridge haha. But at least i could have mouthfuls of the fried porridge with no meat as it was really flavourful!)

Second time back at Bakery Brera and Fine Foods Pte Ltd after almost one year! Always coming here for breakfast before long hikes at botanics garden or towards Macritchie reservoir area!

What is different this time round is that dine in on the two small tables outside are no longer allowed. The hawker centre was also closed for cleaning at the time of our visit. Luckily there are public sitting area right outside the bakery!

The last time I tried the matcha cruffin and kouign-aman. This time round, I got the croissant ($3.80), since it was less messy to eat as a takeaway. Think this item is also one of the cheapest item the bakery is selling. The croissant ticks all the boxes of a good croissant. It was still warm, buttery smell and taste, crispy flaky exterior and soft fluffy in the interior.

Will come back again to try more of the other items!

Visited amano last weekend and loved it!! Amano is situated in quite an ulu area though, at Namly Place amongst all the private residential building. the nearest mrt Sixth avenue MRT is quite a distance away as well! But with that said, they serve such great Italian dishes here!

The must get here to me is the truffle pizza! Pizza was thin crust kind (which I like). The truffle smell and taste was infused everywhere in the pizza! When the pizza was placed on our table I already could not stop saying "wah smells good!" Once I started biting into the pizza, it was "wow this tastes so good!"😍 It was interesting to also see them wood fire the pizza (swipe to last photo!)

We got the crabmeat pasta for second main since 2 pizzas would be too much for 2 pax. Crabmeat pasta was good but the crabmeat was shredded into super tiny pieces while I like to see them visibly and eat big chunks of crabmeat 😊

But on the whole, worth it with the Burpple beyond 1 for 1 and friendly service here with super good pizzas! Do come and visit!
