All i can say is what was stated on their advertising materials as their christmas festive buffet menu had almost more than 40% of their items not found there. 🤯🤯🤯Even though advertising material states that menu items can be subject to change without prior notice.. but this should not happen when it was specifically sold as the christmas festive buffet menu specific for 2 days?! (Lol we saw at least 2 other diners giving feedback to staff and questioning where so and so food items indicated their online menu were as well)

Some of the food items we were looking forward to were nowhere to be seen (menu promoted on website, and still published on their website on 24 dec night) - no chilli crab, no ee fu noodles, no bakkutteh, no grilled chicken, no butter chicken, no duriann souffle, no lobster bisque soup, no sotong. And the list goes on and on and on 🤣

This buffet had more dessert sweets than savoury items too.. 🍰🍪🍫🍨

Shabu Shabu from @kyojosg !

The cold weather these few weeks is the best time to have a pipping hot shabu shabu!

Featured here are the following items:
- Shabu Shabu (Seafood, A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Beef and vegetable platter)
- Nama kaki ponzu (fresh oysters)
-Yakiniku don
-Tako karage (deep fried octopus)

The highlight of the meal was the shabu shabu! Super love the soup! Couldn’t stop having mouthfuls of it! Seafood platter came with salmon, crab, prawns, scallops and clams! The seafood was fresh and sweet tasting! Also special shoutout to the chewy springy udon noodles and sweet potato noodles! Super nice! I couldn't stop myself from having more and more servings of it!

Looking for food places to meet with friends, but everyone has different food preference? Check out this multi concept kitchen ! There are muti F&B brands under one roof here, so you get to please all different taste buds! They serve Asian food, brunch food, desserts, coffee and tea! Wide selection of food choices!

Featured here are the following food items:
-Thai Basil Pork Rice with Egg ($9.50): Was craving for thai food even though I just landed in Singapore from Bangkok less than 14 hours ago lol! This thai basil pork was SOOOO GOOD! Love the basil sauce! It was not overly spicy or salty! Love the oozy egg yolk of the sunny side up egg too! So good that we could finish all the white rice with it!

-Thai Stir-Fried vermicelli: One of my favourite thai stir-fried noodles is this! The vermicelli had much wok hey taste!

- Boiled Peking Dumplings (prawn, pork, chive) with Spicy Sesame sauce (6 pcs for $6.90): One of the signatures from the dim sum menu! You can choose between 3 different type of dumplings and 3 different sauces! We got the spicy sesame sauce to try since it was pretty unique!

-Bostock ($3.80): My first time trying a bostock! It is like a brioche, something between a french toast and almond croissant! There is a layer of almond frangipane and strawberry jam in it, topped with toasted almonds and sliced strawberry! It was moist and soft! Recommend to get this to try!

My second visit here for their high tea set!

The Degustation High Tea Set consists of the following items:
6 assorted mini eclairs
2 mini chicken bacon pie
4 assorted quiches
2 mini savoury scones
2 Parmesan Onion Crostini
2 Egg Mayo Choux
2 Mushroom Vol-au-vent
2 beverages (1 per person)

For the beverage, you can choose from drinks like iced cold matcha and hot teas too!

The high tea set is only available at the Dhoby Ghaut outlet. A very lovely and nice place to chill and relax. I also like how they have high tea set timing for 12pm, great for ppl like me who love to have high tea for lunch, instead of during afternoon high tea hours.
You will need to pay in advance upon reserving your slot online though. This set for 2 pax costs $68, one of the more affordable high tea sets in Singapore, and the best in terms of taste for this price point in my opinion!

Expect affordable japanese food here!

Featured here are the following food items:
Kaeru Noashi Karaage (Frog Legs) ($13.80): My favourite food item was the fried frog legs! Really recommend to try this! It was crispy and fried to perfection and marination was perfect! It actually tasted pretty much like KFC fried chicken (in terms of the fried batter and spice)!
Ika Geso Karaage with Wasabi Mayo ($11.80): The fried squid was also super crispy and fresh!
Spicy Kaarage Bun (2pcs)($5.80): Spicy kaarage bun was also not too spicy, and sandwiched between two pillowy buns!
Yakiniku Butadon ($7.80): The pork yakiniku strips were thinly sliced and juicy! Love the onsen egg! What is special about this butadon is that there is TOBIKO in it too! Crunchy burst of flavours with each mouthful!
For drinks, we had the Peach Lemonade and Apple Juice. They also have a wide variety of alcoholic drinks!

Toasts from @sugartoast.sg !

If you have been contemplating whether to buy the toasts from Sugar Toast..now is the time to! They have reduced their pricing from $10.90 to $6.90-$8.90 to make it more affordable!

The artisanal toasts from Sugar Toast are made fresh on a daily basis!

They have also recently launched two new flavours:
Japanese Mix Toast (dark chocolate and matcha) ($8.90): This was presented in a pretty green dark brown hue! Three different flavours in one!

Spicy Chicken Floss Toast ($8.90): This was super interesting and unique. I actually quite like the spicy and savoury chicken floss taste with the toast bread. Could not stop at one portion, went back for more!

If you will like to taste the original flavour of the toast, opt for the Original Toast ($6.90): The smell of fragrant butter and milk was very strong when I opened up the packaging! Soft pillowy toasts!

Besides the above flavours, they also have these other flavours: Dark Chocolate, Purple Sweet Potato, Cranberry, Brown Sugar, Souffle, Chicken Floss, Matcha Red Bean and Match! Many flavours for you to take your pick from!

Their toasts can last for up to 4 days (but tastes best within 12 hours)!

PSA: @sugartoast.sg has also just opened a new outlet at 45 Telok Blangah Drive #01-173! Head there if you live/work in the south area! One more location to get your toasts from now, besides the flagship Wisma Atria outlet

While emicakes is known for durian cakes, send a non-durian lover to emicakes and I ended up getting the ondeh ondeh swiss roll cake ($9.9) and mini mango cake ($3.50). 🤣

I was quite suprised by how delicious they were! Not overly creamy and also not overly sweet for both the swiss roll and mousse mango cake! Price was subsidized by FoodLine vouchers!

Nam Heong Ipoh Cuisine!

Visited Ipoh back in Sep 2019 (my second last overseas trip before covid struck)! Nam Heong Ipoh opened up a stall at 313 somserset foodcourt since June 2021! Have procrastinated long enough before finally coming to try it out! Was initially put off after reading not so good reviews about it online..

Tried the following food items:
🧡Chicken Sou ($2.20): Buttery flaky pastry crut with sweet bbq char siew!
🧡Egg Tart ($1.80): Flaky buttery crust with egg custard!
🧡Chee Cheong Fan with Minced Meat & Mushroom ($4.90): This turned out quite different from how I remembered it tasted like in Ipoh! This is different from our typical chee cheong fan. This is more like soupy char kway teow drenched in the mushroom minced meat sauce. I wasnt a fan of the tomato sweet sauce given though, and would have preferred if it was served separately
🧡Ipoh Hor Fan ($6.80): I quite like the broth for this! Tasted very homely, but with enough saltyness in the broth! So much better than the ones i had at old town white coffee which was bland and almost twice the price.

For drinks, we were actually looking forward to the white coffee, since it was the white coffee which it was famous for in Ipoh. We enquired and was told they were not allowed to serve the white coffee because they were right beside toast box haha. Hence we settled for the lemongrass lime drink.

Overall, the dishes are ok to me. But just price point slightly abit high. But you get aircon in the foodcourt!

My top favourite kueh lapis sagu is this one from bengawan solo! Have been eating it for 20+ years (along with the price increase, it is now $1.20 per piece)! Very fragrant coconuty taste, kueh layers not too hard, and pretty colours to look at! I eat it both ways - peeling layer by layer or without peeling, depending on whether i have time! ❤️💚🤍

No one does it as good as bengawan solo!

I love coconut and I love Avocado, at @cococadosg , I can enjoy the best of both worlds!

Visited their @paragon.sg outlet recently and tried the following drinks:

Coco Cado Shake ($5.50): This is the signature drink, that has the best of both worlds! Comes with some coconut bits in it. Coconut + avocado is always the best choice!

Coco Mango Shake ($5.30): Fruity sweet mango! Who knew this will be a perfect combination too!

Coco Durian Shake ($6): For all durian lovers, check this out!! The durian taste is strong! It is bittersweet taste, with real durian flesh used! Amazing!

Cado Banana Fresh Milk ($5.5): An interesting combination of avocado with banana! Do try it for yourself!

Cado Gula Melaka Fresh Milk ($5.5): For all avocado milk shake lovers! I recommend to get 0% sugar level since there is already added sweetness from the gula melaka.

The sugar level can be customised for the cado series (0%/ 50% /100%). They also have the choice to include toppings such as nata jelly, mango / lychee / strawberry pops!

LAST CALL: Sign up for a free membership now to enjoy 1 for 1 drinks! The promotion ends today 30 Nov 2021!

Will be back again to try their other flavours! Do check them out at paragon or @jemsingapore !
