1 for 1 mains so we ordered the chicken&waffles with the pulled pork tacos! It was more than enough for 2 as the chicken was huge and they served a generous portion of pulled pork! Service was fast on a weekday lunch! Worth a try!

Came here for a bite to eat since I have the burpple 1-1. Really enjoyed their salted egg yolk soft shell crab pasta for its unique concept! Yet would’ve preferred it to have a stronger taste of the salted egg yolk as it would make the pasta more flavourful. It may just be my picky eater coming out, but the soft shell crab was quite difficult to eat and I ended up spitting quite a lot of the shell part out. The pizza on the other hand was soooo interesting I loved the crust and I usually don’t eat that part so this was really a plus for me! Also ordered a latte which came in a generous cup but went cold quite quickly! Food definitely on a higher price point but with Burpple 1-1 it’s very worth it (only ended up paying $13), would definitely come back :)

Salmon Mentai Don ($8.80) is a @donyasingapore signature. Watch them squeeze a generous amount of house-made mentaiko sauce over a slab of fried salmon. It crackles loudy as they torch it at the counter.
.
It's a bite into a firm salmon that has a meaty bite. It's sweet from mentaiko sauce, yet salty from its batter. The distinct grains of Japanese rice underneath carries some of its charred flavour. I'd love more of the donburi sauce that sweetens it. I'd pair this don with a side to add more depth in its flavour. More garnishing or donburi sauce would help too!

Food Republic @ Shaw House upped the food court game by having a designated corner of Japanese food stalls.

The first stall I tried was Omurice Factory as the food models at the stall front were just so enticing. Instead of the signature demiglas and the seductive curry, I chose to have white cream omurice ($8.90).

There are 3 toppings to choose from for additional of $3.90: pork cutlet, fried prawns and chicken cutlet. If you are interested, add melted cheese for just $1.90. Big eaters can include everything! πŸ˜„

This plate of Omurice was above my expectation for food court standard and its price. πŸ‘ Reasons being, the portion was really huge, pork cutlet was thick albeit slightly dry and the omelette's doneness was on spot - it was still a little wet and wobbling.

But I was a little sad that there was no ketchup at the stall to let my draw a heart on my omurice. πŸ˜” And usually omurice uses fried rice but Omurice Factory uses plain rice.

The ingredients are not compromised, they are air-flown from Japan directly. πŸ‘πŸ» It comes in 3 flavours; matcha, black sesame and soy bean πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ And yay! You get to try all 3 yummy flavours in one serving. Happy Friyay everyone πŸŽ‰ .

The fettuccine was thick, flat with an al dente texture that was a tad too tough for my liking; perhaps the linguine would be a better option. Nevertheless, the generous portion of savoury, tender and juicy bacon slices, chewy and earthy button mushrooms were a great complement creamy, flavourful and cheesy sauce that was surprisingly enjoyable without being too overwhelming and gelat. Yeap, we couldn’t believe it either. We ordered Tendon ($5), which gets you a prawn tempura, a tilapia fillet, a slice of carrot, and shiitake mushroom. Another crowd-favorite is Oyako Don ($3.50) as well as Salmon Bento Set ($6)!
