The sauce is so so so good that our whole family just had to order extra rice!

Full of flavor and wokhei! But even as a self proclaimed lard lover, I also had to remove some lard pieces in the midst of eating. Salivating as I’m thinking about it now!

This place is just *chef’s kiss* 👨‍🍳 the side dishes buffet offered free flow of eggs (tamago, scrambled, soft boiled, sunny side up), an extensive salad bar, potato salad, spaghetti, fruits and a damn unique coffee jelly!!! Of course, the main dish did not disappoint. Hamburg steak was so soft and juicy. Service also very friendly. Only good things to say about this place.

The thinly sliced aburi grade A4 wagyu 🥩 were really tender - so good when paired with the sencha-infused sukiyaki soup 🥣 thickened by the cured egg yolk 🍳. What a savoury treat!
.
Accompanied by perilla leaf tempura 🌿, bamboo shoot & shiitake mushroom 🍄, this certainly makes a wholesome & comforting dish!

My 2nd favourite side dish goes to their Tempura Jalapeno 🌟 ($9++), an indulgent treat with a crisp exterior, stuffed with creamy kombu cream cheese  🧀 & sour cream powder 🤍.

Fish and chips was just alright. But we really enjoyed the pasta really flavourful and the prawns were delicious!! Chocobear was super cute but taste wise just alright

The only place, as far as I know, that serves Wok-Hei flavoured Congee. Originating from Hongkong, this renowned chain expertly imparts the charred flavour whilst wok frying large chunks of fish into their congee broth, such a genius idea, I wonder why no one else does it. The YouTiao (dough fritters) are also a must-order item, takes a short while to get to your table, but comes out crisp and fresh fried every single time.
All their fish congees may contain bones, so please take extra caution if you’re bringing your children or older folks.
For a quick dining concept within a small space, their service was exemplary. Cheers to that @lesamisgroupsg!

For all the westies who crave Italian and don’t wish to travel too far to dine, you can check out @ioosteriasg at HillV2!

Ft. Porchetta [S, $9]

We like their porchetta the most - the moisture and flavours were locked within the meat by an outer layer of crackling pork belly skin.

Large $18.
Taste like truffle mushroom soup stuffed in the bread.

Have fun wrapping up your own makimono! Hehe.🤭
The set consists of sticky vinaigrette rice, shredded cucumber, ikura, flaky seaweed and of course umami creamy Uni.🤤
Was advise to get this Uni set(40~50g) as it was more valuable compared to Hokkaido Uni Sashimi(50g), which was $60+ on that day since it goes by daily market rate. Thanks for advising us, appreciated.🙏
We made Ikura maki roll and ate the Uni like Sashimi.😅 Pretty awesome.

Thanks to Burppler @happygreedyfoodie, I got to learn about this place. Opened a couple of months ago at Sunshine Plaza, it is an eatery with a rather unique concept.
The owner Mr. Tan Min Li, who’s half Japanese and half Chinese, collaborates with a good mix of well-known F&B establishments across Japan to bring their signature creations to Singapore.
On my first visit, I chose a local specialty of Sendai in Northeastern Japan, the grilled Gyutan (Ox Tongue). It’s available on its own but I went for the Don version (since they use rice from Nigata prefecture) with Salted Spring Onion Sauce. It had 150gm of ox tongue and I really like how they cut it into thick, chunky pieces for a firm bouncy bite.
The accompanying two sauces were appetising in their own way. So I alternated dipping the ox tongue in the oil-based salted spring onion and the subtly spicy miso paste (this contains jalapeños) to get the best of both worlds. If you order the classic Gyutan Don which costs $1 less, you only get fresh lemon juice as a dip.
By the way, “Deli’s Kitchen” does delivery too, so do check out their Facebook page for their partners for that.

Turn to this hidden gem in Far East Plaza for value-for-money roast beef dons around town. Make a nosedive for the Roast Beef Don (from $15 for 100g), comprising melt-in-your-mouth sliced beef finished with a runny onsen egg. Well worth the splurge is also the juicy and tender Black Angus Prime Sirloin Steak Don ($29 for 200g).
