Good staff & food! Waited a little but is okay because the shop seemed very busy.
Ordered:
- Army Stew
- Pork Jowl
- Pork Belly
We had 1-1 for the army stew & jowl. Pork belly not included for the burpple deal. Meat cuts were very premium & army stew was flavourful & had a lot of ingredients. VERY SATISFIED. WOULD COME BACK AGAIN. Although if you dont have the burpple deal it gets pricey.
Total paid: $65 for 2 pax (with 1 burpple deal)
I ordered the 8 colours set ($98) that comes with a free stew and used 2x 1-for-1. I redeemed 2 korean grilled squid ($22), Army Stew ($24) and a kimcheese fried rice ($20).
The grilled squid was grilled to perfection 😍 and it's $11 only for a well marinated squid i'll say its very worthed it. The army stew though... the soup was basically diluted kimchi soup with very little dish in it. I had much better army stew at Seoul Garden hotpot previously.
Overall, the service was very good but the food was mediocre. The price is good for big groups at $178 but i wont be back without Burpple :/
Ordered Pork Jowl ($28) and Soy Chicken ($22). The portion of the meat seemed a bit too little for the price, and wasn’t really well-seasoned. The chicken’s size was like those one piece chicken cutlet that I buy from the supermarket :( I know through Google reviews that they measure the meats to ensure that the size is the same for the meats, but it’s still too small for the price charged. I guess you are paying for the service, where they would cook the meat for you.
The soy chicken marinate tasted Chinese instead of Korean. I’ve lived in Korea for awhile so I know that Korean Soy Chicken is a little sweet and savoury, but this rly just tasted like a bit of soy sauce and pepper was marinated with the chicken :(
I loved the onions though, cook it for a longer period of time so it’s completely caramelised! Their kimchi is delicious as well.
Overall, I paid $32.76 for 2 pax. I would still return and perhaps try the stews, which nearly every table had. Please note that they do not serve water and a jug is chargeable at $2. Please remember to make a reservation beforehand and quote Burpple Beyond.
For the army stew, I read a review saying how there wasnt alot of meat and the meat was fatty. But contrary to that, I thought the army stew I was served with was quite meaty! More meaty than other army stews I had! There was lots of luncheon meat and sausage and some pork slices (yup these were fatty pork slices) Also read from reviews that the army stew comes with a one time refill, but we had no need for it!

I have actually been eyeing 8 Korean BBQ for the longest time!! Since when they only had one outlet at clarke quay central! Now there is already a second outlet at Shaw Centre! Super happy when they got listed on burpplebeyond’s 1 for 1 list! Took me sooo long to come here because I was always fearful of the crowds! For burpplebeyond, you will also need to call to reserve (cannot book using chope)! Finally made my visit on a weekday afternoon!
Ordered the spicy chicken thigh ($22++) and army stew ($24++)! I was actually SUPER EXCITED about the bbq meats as I have heard great reviews for it (but is more for the signature 8 colours set - which is excluded from burpple beyond), plus they help you cook the bbq meats here! But uh… I ended up being disappointed with it because LOOK HOW CHAOTAH the chicken was cooked to!!😕 Was so tempted to ask the server to stop cooking it (because it was already chaotah), but was paiseh to do so (because cannot doubt their professiona bbq skill?) Was also unsure if it was because we got a more inexperienced server or what :/ A quick look around the restaurant, i didnt see anyone else with such chaotah meat or bbq plate. (scroll to the back photos to see HOW BLACK the plate was! My sad enoki mushroom is sitting in and being cooked in a pile of charred mess! Sighs guess is our luck. Unsure whether I will want to step foot back here again (when i initially planned to come back again to try th other dishes like the kimcheese fried rice, seafood pancake, grilled seafood / soy chicken thigh)
Used 3 Burpple deals (6 of us) and it was rly worth it! Got the pork jowl ($28), pork neck ($28) (not in the online menu), soy chicken thigh ($22), army stew ($24) +$5 for ramen, seafood bean paste stew ($18) + $5 for dumpling, and Kim cheese fried rice ($20).
Meat was good and they came with some mushrooms and onions! They will cook it for you as well so it’s a bonus. As for the stews, I think you can find better ones outside - broth can be thicker and could be more generous with the meat. The kimchi fried rice was something special tho, worth to try.
Overall the food was good, but it’s on the pricier side without Burpple beyond deals.
