Reviews at Yan Ting

Reviews of good food at Yan Ting

I dined at Yan Ting at a time where everyone has already stopped going there for dim sum. No kidding! I believe my table was the only patrons having dim sum that afternoon. I felt the dim sum is definitely made well and the ingredients premium however there's really nothing that made it stand out from other popular dim sum places. In fact I felt a pang of dissatisfaction after the meal. Perhaps due to its ordinary nature relative to its price tag and my parking fees at St Regis...

Regis Singapore. Essentially sublimely and slickly buttery cod-like fish encased within a tempura-gentle crisp, serenaded by licks of tangy tropical sour. 4/5

This was a hosted meal, courtesy of Yan Ting.

Regis Singapore. The chicken had a dignified, quiet tenderness whilst elsewhere the crunchy and highly absorbent morel soaked up the sauce with great gusto, resulting in a surprisingly seasoned and enthusiastically wet chew. 3.9/5

Love the favors of Soon Hock fried before braising with roast pork belly, mushroom and tofu.

One of the best in its preparation of this HK style steamed bamboo clams with tapioca vermicelli (冬粉)topped with shallot and chili. Always a favourite dish to order and always insist on having individual serving.

Ok, I have not figured out why this is named Macau-style roast pork belly and how different this is with the regular HK-style roast... I guess there was no time for that when this block was snapped up in a minute. P.S. 2 cubes from the block of 8 cubes have been usurped before I could take this picture.

Weekend Dim Sum Brunch. The restaurant has recently added new items - Steamed Pork & Shrimp with Black Truffles, Meat Dumpling in Chilli Oil, Fluffy Steamed BBQ Pork Bun, Steamed Pumpkin and Radish Cake.

This was so comforting after a long and busy work week. I wish I wasn't so stuffed so I can eat more. The grains of rice weren't mushy and the bird's nest had a nice bite. I never complain about having lots of bird's nest because they're supposed to be great for skin and for soothing the throat. #yummy #foodporn #foodstagram

Tender and flavourful without being excessively peppery or gamey, I polished off every little morsel from the plate. #yummy #foodporn #foodstagram

For those who can't decide, go for the Rice Dumpling Gift Set ($39) of three dumplings: Glutinous Rice Dumpling with Abalone & Golden Dried Scallops ($33), Glutinous Rice Dumpling with Pork Belly & Salted Egg Yolk (16) and their new veg creation. Can't wait to go home and feast on these babies! (Photo courtesy of @StRegisSG)

This is Yan Ting Norwegian Prosperity Yu Sheng. There's still takeaway till 22 Feb, the 15th Day. Most credit cards gets 15% off.

Not the most instagram-worthy but definitely one of the best steamed rice rolls around, imho!Crispy dough fritters with soft, thin-as-paper rice rolls. 內脆外軟~ 棒棒噠!

Braised Pig’s Trotters with Fermented Bean Curd, marrying beautiful aromas with tender and flavourful meat.
