The most popular item here at west coz cafe, is their fish head. Their assam fish head was damn good the previous time I was here.
This time round, I am going for the curry fish head.
As expected, the fish meat is soft and tasted so fresh, this pot of curry was filled with ingredients, from beacurd skin to eggplant to long beans, lady fingers, tau pok etc.
The curry was also damn delicious and flavourful, goes well with rice.
Fish was fresh, even its stomach meat has no stale smell.
Better than the average hotplate tofu.
Very generous with their liao.
A good "side dish" to go with their popular curry fish head
Go for the Assam Fish Head Curry rather than the normal Fish Head Curry. The tangy curry comes with bits of pineapple, lady’s fingers and a large fish head. Goes so well with plain rice. Rest of the stuff in the menu is good but not knock your socks off fantastic.
I could see the oil pooling at the bottom and the leaves were shiny with it. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the chicken within. Very tender and well marinated. Took a bit of skill to unravel it thou. It went well with the curry too.
Good value at only $20. Huge pc of fish with quite a lot of vege, tau pok and fried bean curd skin. Wonderfully spicy curry gravy that was perfect for drenching rice in. The fish was the low point of this dish. Meat was soft but lots of small bones. I really hated that. Thot the taste was very familiar. Only upon paying did I know that they also operate Segar Restaurant at Chinatown Point. No wonder I was pretty sure I ate it before.
Fish head curry is a dish that brings families and friends together for a great feast. If you are somewhere at West Coast Plaza formerly known as Ginza Plaza, come to West Coz Cafe. Their Curry Fish Head is a must have otherwise the meal will not be complete.
If you like your curry less coconut, this is the place for you. If you love your curry to be spicy, this is the cafe you must try. Cover your rice with the curry and Dark sauce, your will definitely go for second serving for your rice.
Pricing is super reasonable. Food quality is good but service is ok lah... ... it's always crowded.
Overall, it's worth the wait.
Went against my preference for red meat by ordering the Pandan Leaf Chicken and was rewarded by a tender and tasty dish.

There's abundance of greens like long beans, lady fingers and eggplants.

They are really famous for their curry and Assam curry fish head. And they are indeed right. The Assam was so good that I nearly wanted to lick the plate up! Their set meals (for groups of 4-6 or more) is really worth the price. However; be early as a queue will build up both for lunch and dinner!
The fish wants a kiss by the looks of it. We are just into eating it. The fish head curry here is a crowd fav.
First time here at this indoor zichar restaurant in the West. Assam fish head and cereal prawn is meaty and good. Nice place for family gathering. #familydinner .
