Yum! The pork was lean and meaty but still tender and juicy, with generous servings of cucumber, kimchi radish, lettuce, and seaweed. I really liked the kimchi radish, it was sour and crunchy, not too raw or soft. I prefer a fried egg over a raw egg. Only thing was that my rice didn’t get crisp and crunchy at the bottom even though I gave it time to have surface contact with the dolsot, I’m not sure why haha
Their side dishes were great too - ikan bilis was puffy and crisp, not superrr salty and served with crunchy roasted peanuts. Kimchi was great too!! Very refreshing and crunchy, with good flavour, slightly spicy. Broccoli was normal, potato I’ve had nicer (maybe because I didn’t have it cold). I didn’t have the beancurd skin.
They also serve roasted tea here instead of normal plain water. I’ll say 50% of the Korean restaurants I’ve been to serve roasted tea so I can’t take it as the default, hence it is a plus point
Check out these beautiful goodness of Korean main dishes just ($16) before GST and also include banchans + barley tea as well. Located conveniently at the stretch of telok ayer/Amoy St! For all who ever wanna have a casual lunch or satisfy your korean bbq fix — this is the RIGHT PLACE for sure! ☺️💯
Each bento set comes with a choice of meat (chicken, pork or beef), soup and rice.
They also sell the meat and soup separately but getting the set is so much more worth it.
Fr the bento, the pork portion seems much more substantial as compared to the chicken. so it depends it on which you prefer.
For the soup, we opted for the kimchi soup with pork belly. soup was very appetizing, and came with a good portion of pork belly and some tofu as well!! goes very well with rice.
i love all the sides that was provided - kimchi, mashed potato, broccoli, beancurd? and sausages!!! very yums!!!

Half half pancake consist of half kimchi pancake and half seafood pancake!!
ordered via foodpanda and was amazed that the pancake was still hot and crispy. there were prawns and squid in the seafood one.
this has been a staple each time i visit their restaurant. very good for sharing and very filling.
The BBQ meats are cooked and served in a traditional iron grill skillet, together with the kimchi and bean sprouts. If you have not had grilled kimchi and bean sprouts, I highly urge you to do so the next time you have K-BBQ as the flavour from the fats of the meat is mixed into the vegetables during the grilling, giving it an extra dimension of flavours and through the grilling, gives it a nice char and texture. For this meal, we got the U.S. Prime Ribeye ($36) and Duroc Pork Belly ($24) that is cut to 2cm thick, and after rendering the fats away, it results in a nice flavour and texture as you eat it on its own or wrap it into a ssam. A K-BBQ is not complete without washing all the oiliness down with the Peach Makgeolli ($18).
To go alongside your BBQ meats, Wang Dae Bak Pocha serves a range of complimentary banchan, including a menu of ala carte dishes such as the Pork Knuckle Original/Spicy ($32/$36), fried chicken, stews, and the crowd favourite Korean Pancake, which comes in Kimchi, Seafood or Half-Half ($25) versions.
