My go-to place when I’m craving a good bowl of Japanese Wagyu beef Don. Waa cow truly never disappoints. The beef was tender and the spicy torched mentaiko was so creamy. I always love mixing everything up together — it gets mushy with the mentaiko, glaze from the beef, and the onsen egg, but it’ll still be a very tantalising experience for your tastebuds.

Some might say that spending S$28.80 on a Wagyu Don might be a tad exhorbitant, but I really was more than pleased with the tenderness of the beef with an Onsen egg, complete with a portion of Foie Gras by the side.
The rice portion might not be very big, but the reality would be that if one would order this bowl, it should not be for the sake of carbohydrate loading.
Seasonal special - Iberico pork don! Well, this is the cheaper alternative to the rather steeply priced (but worth spending) gyu dons. I liked how they’re generously marinated with the house special (shoyu?) sauce that’s really… sweet! It’s served with huge shrooms as you can tell from the pic, half a ramen egg and some japanese cucumber (that I’m happy to do without). Portion wise, you could ask for less rice (no discount!). It’s a rather small-ish sized bowl and definitely would not feed one with an average appetite. But it you’re a small eater, I think the standard portion size is good. Happy to share that Waacow’s sides are pretty good - truffle fries, scallops etc. They’re definitely good sharing sides for those who aren’t filled from the dons!
Sour pickle, salty beef and creamy egg - not what I imagine when someone says "Japanese", but I loved it nonetheless.
We know how gimmicky it could be. But the scallops was okay. And we had a 1 for 1 deal for this. Still we enjoyed the scallops. I had the spicy mentaiko scallops.
Shrinkflation has definitely happened over the years- I've been eating here since they first opened in cbd (at the old raffles exchange location).
The foie gras is half the size that it used to be and the beef slices are so thin (almost like yoshinoya thinness!!) but the TASTE is still great compared to other beef bowl offerings. Idk what's in their marinade /dressing but it's always amazingly tasty.
💡: Add foie gras for $6++
