More Reviews of good food at Town Restaurant

Hotel food doesnt come cheap so we're thankful for our staycay dining credits! Otherwise, we probably wouldnt have splurged on this exorbitantly priced lobster nasi lemak at $38.00++. Then again, having tried this, the husband and I concluded that it's a dish we probably wouldnt mind paying for!

The lobster came with fried bits crumbly bits on the edges - a sign that it's been deep fried somehow with pretty good batter. The lobster meat retained its sweetness and was succulent as expected (for the price and the hotel's rep haha). Rumor has it that the Fullerton hotel executes their Asian food exceptionally well and I have to agree that the nasi lemak is nothing but ordinary. The rice was infused with strong lemak-ness, but without the oily or cloying feel. The husband polished off every bit without difficult (nor guilt). Despite not being a fan of rice or coconut rice for that matter, I reached out for a second mouthful because the nasi lemak rice + sambal chilli combi was simply too addictive. On the side, there was the appetite-whetting achar (tangy and crisp), as well as highly addictive fried peanut and ikan bilis. The sambal was sweet and spicy, and so so so good that we asked for not one but 2 more servings to have with the rice. The only 'meh' item was the egg which also expectedly paled in comparison to the taste of its counterparts on the plate. Considering 1 whole lobster dish is easily priced at $38-$45 ++ at mid tier food establishments, it's a pretty easy decision to part with $38.00++ for the lobster nasi lemak pictured here!

Aptly themed and named, Celebrate ‘Home’ with Town Specials, pictured is the six-course ‘Nyonya Reunion’ family sharing menu ($180) that is good for 4 pax and this heritage-inspired feast features the aromatic spices and bold flavours of our local cuisine.

In this feast, you are going to get a do-it-yourself Peranakan popiah and kueh pie tee set so that everyone in the household can have fun making your own spring roll or pastry cup. There is also a large portion of nasi panggang of fragrant rice wrapped and grilled in banana leaf and to go with the rice are accompanying dishes such as Peranakan satay babi goreng (pork belly cooked in a housemade spice chilli paste, buah keluak and lime leaves), udang masak lemak nenas (king prawns cooked in a pineapple and coconut gravy which has a nice balance of tanginess and creaminess) and Nyonya chap chye (the quintessential braised seasonal vegetables in a fermented bean sauce). To end off the meal on a high, the feast comes with The Fullerton’s Signature Ondeh Ondeh Cake (500g), which absolutely stole the show for me as the light and fragrant layers of pandan sponge paired so well with the sweet gula melaka and freshness from the crunchy coconut shavings.

The heritage flavour ice cream was developed by Creamier (@creamier_sg) and available exclusively at The Courtyard and Town Restaurant at The Fullerton Hotel, as well as The Clifford Pier at The Fullerton Bay Hotel (@fullertonbayhotel).

First time at TOWN Restaurant at Fullerton Hotel, glad that the Singapore Hi-Tea buffet received the thumbs-up from both parents and the aunts. The mini nonya kueh-kueh were so colourful and cute! So much food!!

They've got a wonderful Nasi Lemak Turkey (deliciously paired with the usual Nasi Lemak condiments of nuts, sambal, egg shreds, ikan bills and fragrant coconut rice), but who can resist their signature #Panettone and Stollen? #FindNewFood #MediaTasting

Tried the Themed Dinner with my fellow CG members at @fullertonhotel earlier and maaan twas good.

Pleased by the variety of food they have here. From salads, fresh seafoods, pizza, pasta, chicken rice, laksa, roasted pork, duck, roasted pork shoulder, butter chicken, green curry, soups, breads, different kind cheese and of course, the highly raved free-flow grilled lobster [with cheese 🧀🧀🧀🧀]. 😍

But for now, let's focus on this one: free flow grilled lobster. The thing about the lobster is - even when it's free flow - it's made by order, so rest assured that your lobster is as juicy and fresh as it can get. You can either enjoy it as it is, or better yet, be creative - eat it with laksa/pasta/soup, you decide. In case you're wondering, yes i went mad. And having it with laksa waz a good decision.

One of the better hotel Sunday brunches I've had so far - aside from the extensive selection of seafood, meats and sweets, the gaiety generated by these performers is sincere and infectious. Gosh, what an afternoon.

With over 200 items available during the Italian Sunday Brunch - think seafood, authentic Italian fare, a bajillion cheeses and so many meats from pigs, chickens, cows and rabbit (!!) you'd get meat sweats just walking the rounds. This is a sampling of their seafood selection, and I haven't even started on the sashimi counter yet.

$69 decadent log cake to celebrate! Layers of Bailey Irish cream, chocolate fudge sponge, hazelnut nougatine, ivory chocolate, jicama chocolate and dark tropical chocolate. We loved the different layers except for the marshmallow-like texture. Couldn't really taste any Irish cream either.

Devil's Curry is a very spicy Eurasian style of curry with a sour tinge, traditionally made during Christmas times. You get all sorts of ingredients inside, so don't be surprised to find a sausage. Available at Fullerton Town Restaurant, review at DanielFoodDiary.com
