bro this tsp is so expensive… but it’s so good… the tau sa is sweet yet salty which i love (swalty combos are the best), coupled with the egg yolk (savoury, flakey) and the flakey pastry skin… its chefs kiss 💋 nothing much to say lol just go get this to try. wish this can be a permanent menu 😭😭

Ordered this via Grab food and it came to me at room temperature. The cake was soft and dense, just how I like my cake to be. The kaya filling is the same as the one used in their toast. They gave a lot of filling so I was finally able to taste their kaya (couldn’t taste it in their toast as the layer was too thin). The kaya was very coconutty and mildly sweet which went super well with the fragrant pandan cake. I just wish the kaya wasn’t so grainy. The cake had a strong pandan fragrance too! Would recommend trying this.

The roll came in such an odd shape lol. Thought this would be cold but it’s actually room temperature. The cake was soft, dense and moist, which I liked! It had a strong pandan flavour which made the roll very fragrant. The kaya is just what Toast Box uses in their kaya toast. I found it a little too grainy in texture but the coconut fragrance was really strong. There’s a lot of filling in this roll so I could finally taste what Toast Box kaya tastes like, couldn’t really taste it in their toasts as the layer of kaya is so thin. Eaten together, the kaya filling and pandan cake goes super well together, exuding a natural-tasting pandan coconutty flavour. Would definitely recommend getting this to try!

I felt that kaya jam was quite creamy and thick. It usually need to apply thick jam on the surface of the bread and cover up another bread (butter) after toasting. I don't like really like thick jam on the bread tbh and prefer to apply thin jam on the bread.

Set 4 ($6.10) is one of my favourite, who can pass up porkfloss?? It is even more worth it because we redeemed a $5 Toast Box voucher from grab The coffee was “Gao”, porkfloss generous, toast crispy and eggs runny - I can’t ask for anything more!! (Except for inflation to rise slower??)

Aside from their popular traditional toast, I also love the Otah thick toast from Toastbox, which is similar to a muar otah atop a thick soft white bread. #burpple
