($1.20) I wanted to try their egg tart (probably I used to try it out previously). But the egg crust was quite thick and egg custard filling was not much tbh.
The puff pastry is buttery with slightly thick texture. This body type is holding the filling (honeyed BBQ pork) well when you take the bite. The filling is quite sweet. It goes well with hot tea as a snack.
Curiosity kicks in when glancing on their Pau counter. Round, plump and inviting, this Phoenix egg is a should-try.😋 There is not much grease despite it being a deep fried item. Chicken, pork & boiled egg as fillings are flavourful and complementing each other.

油炸芋角
Deep fried taro dumpling with green peas, carrot & minced meat.
Savoury snack, consistently delectable.

Because in Chinese it's fried egg, which is a homophone for bomb. For me the best creation at Tiong Bahru Pau. Egg and meat encased in dough. Delicious.
We both agree that even in Toa Payoh, there are many eating options but somehow we couldn’t quite find our fav restaurant. However, this pau stall is a must try! Pork bun taste very nice both the skin & pork filling. Siew Mei might not look photogenic but they are smashing good!! #tastyeat #toapayoh
