A hole in the wall, but surprisingly this could be the most authentic and best Viet in SG at present. Long and diverse menu, including many dishes rarely found outside Vietnam. If you want to sample the wonderful variety of vietnamese snail dishes, this is the place.

Banhmi holds a special place in my heart - they bring me back to a time during my overseas community service project in school where these sandwiches were sold 20-50cents sustenance everyday in Hue where we were helping with simple construction of a kindergarten. At price tags of double digit multiples in Singapore it only speaks of the different income level, economic development of the 2 countries.
That said while I had high hopes of this coffeeshop-like Vietnamese place since I’ve visited years ago when they were in Orchard, I was dismayed as the quality of food had severely deteriorated with higher price points compared to neighbouring Vietnamese places. My banhmi was only passable as the chicken meat was tough but thankfully seasoned with flavor. No wonder the place was quite empty on a Saturday evening when other places along the Geylang Road stretch were full house.

Beef was quite tender, though the Onion still got some raw heat to it. The sauce had this very strong umami taste, that's so familiar yet so unlike any of the usual culprits e.g.fish sauce. The lady wont reveal anything about the sauce at all, but it was slurp-worthy
