We came by during dinner so they didn’t sell the rice bowl set.
Burnt chili chicken | Kurobota Pork | Streamed Veggies
I loved their hearty and affordable Taiwanese fare and hope to see them back some day. Their braised pork rice (卤肉饭) and XL fried chicken are good!
Braised Pork Rice/ Lu Rou Fan ($12++ - Lunch Bowl/ $15++ for braised pork ala carte; Pic 1). A generous slice of braised pork belly that’s served with some rice, sous vide egg and cai xin/ choy sum. It comes with white rice by default but you can add $0.50++ to top up to shiny rice (like I did.
The great thing about the pork belly is that it’s got that balance between the melt in your mouth fat and tender meat. And being costed in the homemade soy sauce, it was irresistible that keeps you yearning for more.
The shiny rice deserves a special mention for how simple ingredients like lard and garlic oil can amplify a simple bowl of starch.

Pork Chop Bowl. ($10++ for Lunch Bowl). Also available on its own. For the lunch bowl, you’ll get a good amount of crispy, tender, tasty pork belly that’s marinated in a special seasoning and deep fried till crispy. To round it up, there’s some homemade pickled carrots and a sous vide egg.

XL Fried Chicken ($10++). You won’t regret ordering this. EXTRA LARGE pieces of BONELESS chicken thigh that’s coated with a crispy better. Choose from plum powder mix or salt pepper and preserved orange seasoning. We opted for the former and it added a distinct sweet, sour and salty flavour to the dish.
True to the Taiwanese dining culture, these dishes at The Salted Plum are portioned to be small eats, priced affordably at $5, $10, $15 and $20, so that you can order a variety of plates to share among your group. New in the menu include homely and comforting classics to the Taiwanese cuisine such as the Steamed Sea Bass with Manjack Berries ($15), with the berries being imported directly from the source country, Crispy Pepper Squid ($15), Fluffy Cai Po Omelette ($10) and Braised Spicy Duck Wings ($5), the latter braised overnight in the signature haus black gravy. All of these go perfectly well with a bowl of shiny rice that has been drizzled with lard or sweet potato congee.

Honestly, every dish was equally delightful! 😋 Their 烤肉 (Barbequed Meat) is a crowd-favourite & a must-try! 💯 I personally liked the smoky flavours of the Charred Brussel Sprouts, & the freshness of the steamed sea bass - sweet & tangy without a strong ginger taste! 👍🏻👍🏻
.
Had their Haus Red Tea Jelly & Pearls for dessert! 💕 Love the firm yet slightly chewy & crunchy texture of the jelly, coated with a layer of luscious whipping cream - so sinful but worth every calorie! ✔
