[Yishun, Singapore 🇸🇬]

The outlet has just opened with dine in area which sits 16 pax. It took over the space formerly occupied by Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart.

Bun Cha (S$13.80)

Located in Northpoint City just beside the escalator that links you to Yishun MRT, The Kind Bowl serves
vegetarian Vietnamese food such as Pho and Bahn Mi. The stall is pretty small, with only around 10 seats available.

The Crazy Baguette (Bahn Mi) took a little longer to prepare compared to the noodles. A generous serving of pickled carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, cilantro, red chili, tofu and grilled seitan were placed on top of a well-toasted baguette. Apart from the savory black pepper sauce coating the crunchy vegetables in the sandwich, there was also mushroom pate spread across the inside layer of the baguette for added umami.

The dish was clean-tasting overall, with a huge serving of fresh vegetables to increase your fibre intake, but did not compromise on the taste - acidity from the pickled vegetables, spice from the chili and the savory black pepper sauce came together really well. The serving was huge too and we could only finish half of the portion given as we also had a bowl of their noodles.

There is also an option to have the mains (noodles or Bahn Mi) in a set that comes with a drink and a summer roll. The sets would cost $12.80, while having the mains a la carte would cost $9.80 instead. They did not accept paywave when we were there but you can pay via PayLah! and GrabPay.

We decided to eat a healthier meal and ended up at the kind bowl. Kind pho is one of their signature dishes and we were impressed by how flavourful the soup is despite the plain appearance. They were generous with the ingredients (mushrooms and seitan) but we wished that there were more noodles. For coriander haters, do remember to ask for no coriander. They also serve the non garlic and onion version as well!

Unlike the kiliney outlet, this outlet is really small (approx 10seats) and serves a rather limited menu. It's located at the mrt linkway to North point with some seats facing the human traffic so it's not the best place to have a leisurely meal. Would recommend the kiliney outlet instead!

We chanced upon The Kind Bowl, which is a stall in Northpoint City selling vegan Vietnamese fare. One of their signature items was the No Crab Noodles which unfortunately tasted nothing like a crab-related dish. The broth was a tomato-based broth which could be more flavourful, and it was served with 粗米粉, egg rolls, tofu, beansprouts and pineapple slices. Given the decent serving size, we felt that the price of around $10 was fairly reasonable. Nonetheless, the dish was rather plain and you may wish to consider The Kind Pho instead, which was much more delicious in our opinion.

The Kind Bowl takes up a pretty small shop in Northpoint City and there are fewer than 10 seats. Hence, it might not be a wise option to dine here if you are planning to head over in a big group.

I was pretty curious when I found that @thekindbowl_sg ‘s The Kind Pho was ranked the number one dish in @abillion 50 Best Vegan Dish in Singapore. Priced at S$9.80 it was similarly priced compared to the usual pho in Singapore. Flat rice noodles in a peppery broth topped with sliced seitan, sliced oyster mushrooms, raw bean sprouts, and fresh herbs with a wedge of lime and sliced chilli padi served by the side. Great for a cold day although wish there could be more depth in the broth.

The Crazy Baguette A.K.A BÁNH MÌ (S$9.80) was another popular item which was ranked #11 on the chart. Love the crispy crusted baguette which was packed to max with pickles, grilled seitan, fresh herbs, mushroom pâté, egg (not sure it’s egg or tofu), herbs and homemade sriracha mayo. Messy to eat but super yummy. And filling.

Food is great, service is poor.

I liked the pho, with its tasty broth and the generous servings of seitan, oyster mushrooms, sprouts and herbs which combine to give a clean-tasting, hearty bowl.

The highlight was the summer roll, which is huge, has a thin rice paper skin, and generous insides which include crunchy vegetables for a nice bite.

The lady at the counter was rude. She took a long time to attend to me while she used her handphone, was unhelpful when I asked about the items on the menu, gave me inaccurate information about the dishes, and became impatient when my favepay couldn’t process the transaction.
