Haven’t been to TDC in a while - inflation definitely hit, the bowl has shrunk by at least 1/3? That aside, was pretty pleased with my selection: Cilantro Lime Quinoa (a nice base with a light citrusy tang), Baked Sweet Potato (yum! really very sweet), Herb-Crusted Dory Fillet (skip it, it’s meh), Eggplant w/ Garlic & Herb (alright but was a little dry), Sautéed Mushrooms (shimeiji was crunchy and delish!), Pomegranate Seeds (for a pop of flavour), and Pesto which is what I always go for, for that herby and bright flavour. I do prefer a thinner pesto tho, but their dressings are generally quite thick and creamy.
For my own reference, replacing the eggplant with fajita veg and dory with peri-peri chicken would be the most ideal combi! But I shall give the other options a try too.
what i ordered: romaine lettuce + chopped kale (+$0.50) + herb-crusted dory filet + grilled asparagus + scrambled egg whites + baked almonds + meyer lemon vinaigrette
food: yum! the dory was smooth and silky, the herbs adding a nice touch to the taste. the romaine seemed a little hole-y, and the egg whites was nothing too special. the vinaigrette was sweet and added a nice touch to the entire bowl! (it was the star of the show, if i were to be completely honest) quite filling even though it seems very little. a little pricey but honestly all these salad bars are quite expensive :<
quite busy for around 1pm
Love the variety of food to choose from every time i visit. Good food and good service - can't complain 👍🏻
tastes amazing! salmon was (+2) and avocado was (+1) but the whole combination with the quinoa, scrambled egg whites and chilli flakes (a MUST for spicy lovers) was superb. will definitely be back for a healthy quick fix.
Another atas cai png.
.
• base 1: chestnut brown rice - quite fluffy and not dry! with big grains.
• base 2: romaine lettuce - your typical lettuce, nothing so special heh
• protein: herb baked dory - not quite dry, especially because I had olive oil as the sauce. the herb gives another dimension to the taste.
• side 1: sichuan tofu - it is not strongly sichuan-y in terms of flavor, just minutely spicy.
• side 2: cucumber - your typical cucumber.
• side 3: fried tempeh - the way I had it growing up! some chopped chili and kicap manis would be good:( no sour taste like how some hawker stalls do it. fried just nice to feel healthy.
• topping: scallion - nothing special. actually ordered by mistake.
• dressing: garlic and thyme olive oil - taste just like muted olive oil to me. it is a good grease but that's about it. one thing I note is that they pre-package the dressing into plastic containers. I requested to drizzle it to reduce plastic waste but they can't accommodate. sadly.
Found another heaven for clean-eating! I love the extensive options and reasonable pricing (a regular sized meal priced at $12.00, with 2 bases, 1 protein, 3 supplements, 1 topping and 1 sauce). A reg-sized meal suffices to fill up one for lunch (no food coma!) Their bases were pretty ordinary - you've the regular lettuce, quinoa, brown rice and pasta. However, the selections of protein and supplements were unique! For proteins, they're mostly seasoned and flavoured. Instead of boring steam/ sous-vide chicken that tastes bland, theirs comes roasted to a golden brown. Their dory fillet was herb-crusted and elevated the taste of the otherwise rather bland dory. They run seasonal specials at a top-up, such as lamb sausages (for Xmas) too! I love their maple-roasted yam (must, must try) and charred broccolli. For sauce - pesto vinaigrette is definitely my go-to!
The Daily Cut's menu is unique in terms of the variety and mode of cooking. I had the chestnut brown rice, baked dory, kale, scrambled white egg, and fried tempeh topped with pesto dressing. Enjoyable, quite generous and not over-seasoned. Love the tempeh especially as some places can make it too wet, over-fried or sour-ish but not with this.

Ooh I love daily cut’s food! Always looking forward and always having the dilemma on which ingredient to choose because they are so good!
Today’s regular bowl ($12) combination is quinoa, sweet potato mash, teriyaki chicken thigh, asparagus, onsen egg, miso tofu, walnuts and pesto sauce.
Pesto sauce is my all time favourite, pairs well with quinoa and sweet potato mash! Haven’t been here since the circuit breaker and the teriyaki chicken definitely tastes better than before! Purple sweet potato mash used to taste better though, now they use yellow sweet potato. Personally I didn’t quite like the miso tofu, couldn’t taste the miso-ness to it. Not ordered this round, but definitely do try the mushrooms!
The generous bowls at The Daily Cut start from an affordable $9. Burppler Kar Yan Yeong really liked the curried cauliflower, charred cabbage with chilli oil and the salmon fillets, while Burppler Chew Sher Mein says the tempeh is a good option for vegans and vegetarians looking for their protein fix.

New menu alert! Waited with so much anticipation and yes, they have finally launched their summer menu on 1 June. (Check Deliveroo for latest menu for now!) .
No changes to base apart from brown rice becoming brown rice pilaf. Minimal changes done to the protein options, with chicken thigh being replaced by teriyaki chicken thigh and dory filet being replaced by lemon butter dory. Chili lime shrimp have been retained (OH YES, PRAYERS ANSWERED) .
A little bit more exciting moving onto the
supplements: button mushrooms now replaced by oyster mushrooms, parmesan Roasted cauliflower replaced by honey sesame cauliflower (this got my attention!), spicy garlic eggplant replaced by grilled eggplant (😫), honey sesame tofu replaced by miso tofu. The following supplements have been removed - ginger soy glazed edamame, sambal tempeh, Brown butter carrots. Well, you lose some and you win some! New additions are - cucumber salad, zucchini & falafel! .
Toppings are pretty exciting too, almost got a revamp here apart from the honey baked sunflower seeds which withstood the test of time. They’ve brought back korean chili flakes. (Miss the chili crips!! With the mala tofu) We now also have green raisins, fresh scallions, crispy fried shallots, and chopped walnuts! Said goodbye to shredded Nori (my fav!), croutons, garlic chips, chopped cashews and fresh cilantro! .
Lastly, the make or break - dressing!! Saw some lovely additions Sichuan olive oil, ponzu, raita (Indian yogurt sauce with cucumber, mint and cilantro), sambal olek (my choice! got kick damn shiok!!) We also lost some good soldiers who have served us well - curry leaf olive oil, ranch, yuzu and salsa. Of course, the best dressing will always remains a staple - pesto vinaigrette!
I liked the pesto, pumpkin, bell peppers, sweet mash potato, quinoa! Flavourful and light, perfect for lunch. Curry cauliflower, chicken, broccoli was rather normal. This was extremely filling, but doesn’t make one bloated as it’s quite healthy. Will probably get the petite bowl next time :)

The build your own bowls from Daily Cut really makes dieting less depressing 😂 I really liked the curried cauliflower, charred cabbage with chilli oil and the salmon fillets!
Boyfriend’s scoop of avocado looks so smooth and creamy 🥑 Gotta get that next time!

Petite bowl - $9
Whole grain pasta
Mashed purple sweet potato
Chicken breast

Finally got to try the purple sweet potato mash after eyeing it since they started offering it. Loved the thick and creamy mash thats packed with natural sweetness of sweet potato! Also had the chilled soba but i think i prefer the pasta.
I usually go for the teriyaki chicken thigh, but wanted to try the chicken breast this time. Super tough and dry though 😩 Perhaps it would have been better if it was sous-vide and also cut into smaller bite-sized chunk like the chicken thigh. Also rather bland-tasting hence its lucky that i went for shichimi topping which gave a nice burst of spice and flavour.
Pretty pricey but fulfils quality and wholesomeness. ($12-$14 for a standard portion)
*Based on what I have tried*
Good and Interesting Picks:
- Mashed Purple Sweet Potatoes
- Baby Corn
- Maple-glazed Tempeh
- Button Mushrooms
Everything else is pretty alright.
Avoid:
- Salmon Fillet (paid +$2 more to get dried out salmon)
- Garlic and Chili Olive Oil (not much taste and literally oil)
Look at this bulging bowl of goodness :D the box could barely fit this. But finally trying the 'OG meal prep place' as my dining partner puts it.
$15 bought me 2 bases (romaine, purple mashed sweet potato), 2 proteins (chicken breast, chili-lime shrimp), 3 supplements (broccoli, maple-glazed tempeh, egg whites), 1 topping (pomegranate seeds) and 1 dressing (honey mustard). To be honest the dressing is quite unnecessary; all the food is pretty well seasoned already so I only used it as a dipping sauce for the romaine. Or perhaps the lime squeeze might have been a better option.
The standouts to me were the chili-lime shrimp, which were fresh and crunchy with just the right amount of tanginess and spiciness from the seasoning. The tempeh is a good option for vegans and vegetarians looking for their protein fix; it was flavorful although I could barely taste the maple glaze.
All in all, not my favorite healthy salad place (personally I prefer more simply cooked food rather than the deluge of clashing flavors I got here) to eat in the CBD, but definitely worth it for the price and generous serving.
7/10
Healthy yet delicious! I chose the toppings randomly and it turned out good. The dory was really nice. They also give generous amount of food.
