A solid version here
Asked for less spicy and it's perfect cos you really feel the heat yet it's not too much, they use authentic birds eye chillies.
The kway teow had a good bounce and the aroma from the basil was strong. It was well seasoned and thus savoury too.
As far as casual versions go, I doubt you can find a better one
Located at Havelock Road, Thai Kha serves an extensive range of authentic Thai street fare at affordable prices. Some menu highlights include the Waterfall Pork Salad ($8.90), the Thai Tom Yum Fried Rice ($8.90), and Thai Green Curry Chicken ($7.90). The next time you’re craving Thai food and you’re in the vicinity, you’ll know exactly where to head!
Randomly chanced upon this cafe, small but cosy. Their tomyum is towards the sour spicy type, much to my liking. Pork basil was delicious too. Very worth for the portion size and price!
(11.90 SGD) Absolutely delicious stir fry flat noodles With prawns, flower squid, onions and green beans. Love the taste of the finely chopped garlic in the sauce. Be warned this version is very deceptively spicy with the shredded chilli padi, you can request to make is less spicy. The restaurant is a small casual dining place in Havelock2 serving Thai street food. Will be back to try the other dishes
Hidden inside Havelock 2 - this place is a gem. Super affordable and delicious pad see ew and basil pork rice. Flat rice noodles were well wok-fried and lightly charred, and basil pork rice had a nice amount of gravy that coated the rice, unlike some places which make it quite dry. Both also had generous portions too. Makes a wonderful lunch!
There’s few Thai restaurants around Chinatown, Thai Kha is another one that located in this quiet mall, Havelock II.
It was very rich in the taste and spicy, with shrimps and octopus.
