Was pleasantly surprised to find a Teochew restaurant in the heartlands. I felt that this dish was okay when paired with rice but mom and bf felt that it was a little salty. We also had our fish done two ways - stir-fry with veg and the other with yam in soup. Both dishes were pretty homely to me. In all, we paid about 120 plus for 4 dishes cause the fish was already 80. Would return again with family because I like the cosy environment and it’s hard to find such spots for family dinners in the neighbourhood.

On the first look, the orh nee here looks very watery and light in colour. However as I started stirring, I could feel the thickness in texture. Surprisingly, the orh nee contained bits of yam and was not too sweet. The portion was also just right for one person. However, the gingko nuts were pretty bitter and the only piece of pumpkin was too sweet, obviously soaked in sugar syrup. Couldn't taste the natural sweetness of the pumpkin but just the sugar syrup instead.

Big, succulent, crunchy prawns laid adoringly on top of yellow chives that went through a quick fire of wok frying. The end result, is this beautiful coloured plate that is bursting with moist, juice and flavour. A hint of seafood is present in the thicken sauce of the chives, so good that second helping of the plain rice is necessary. PS: we had this from the set dinner menu.

A tad on the salty side and service could do with some improvements, but overall still satisfying.

Clearly was my personal favourite among the dishes ordered. The gravy like broth is superior in taste and scent and colour. Filled to the brim with sea cucumber, scallops, fish slices, top shell and fish Maw, this pot goes fabulous with plain white rice. The sweetness drawn from the seafood delighted my tastebuds, and not a single drop of the gravy was spared. Generous with the fish maw and sea cucumber, there was no need to "fight" over who gets the last bite. Value for money, based on the set dinner we ordered.

This traditional Teochew restaurant opens 24 hours a day and does not charge any taxes. Despite the fact that it is located below a HDB block, it serves many delicacies! A couple of the must try dishes are the orh nee (as featured) and sliced fish porridge.
