@sumkeefood is an air-conditioned tzi char restaurant with outlets in Telok Blangah and Jurong. Their signature items are the curry fish head and "ultraman" chicken.
For those who like their curry lemak, you will definitely fall in love with Sum Kee's curry fish head. The gravy is fragrant and perfect with a big bowl of rice. Their fish head was kinda on the small side though. My suggestion is to perhaps order two if you have more than 4 pax dining.
Their ๅธ่่ถ ไบบ้ธก is essentially popcorn chicken with salted egg sauce. I would have preferred either a stronger flavoured or more sauce to go with the bite-sized chicken. Not a big fan of this.
I am not a big fan of pumpkin but their tofu in pumpkin sauce was surprisingly tasty with a subtle earthy sweet flavour.
As with all tzi char restaurants, Sum Kee has its fair share of hits and misses. It can get terribly crowded and noisy during mealtimes but it is great in terms of price and quality of food for big family gatherings.

We make our trip down to their Telok Blangah outlet last night for dinner to enjoy their Signature Curry Fish Head! It was INCREDIBLY SHIOK as always! Curry fish head served in a claypot with a small fire at the bottom to keep it boiling and pipping hot till the last sip. Curry gravy is just perfect and not super spicy that will burns ur tongue n tummy.. The size of the fish head is pretty huge and very meaty, big enough for 3 pax with another order of a side dish with 3 white rice:) It also comes with Tau pok, long beans, lady fingers and brinjal too! We are so hooked to sipping their fragrant curry gravy during the entire meal and our white rice were all fully submerged in their curry gravy too!! Super super delicious!! One of our Go-To whenever we have curry fish head cravings! Great deal, not to be missed! โ

Indulging our sumptuous lunch spread from one of all our favourite ZiChar, ๐ฆ๐๐บ ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ! A hidden ๐ , this zichar restaurant serves super super yummy dishes at affordable prices! With an intensive menu they served, we always have a hard time deciding what to eat coz we are so spoilt for choices! Super mega huge portion of Spanish Pork Ribs! Pork ribs is very tender and flavourful as they are marinated for more than 12 hours! Goes so well with their special tangy sauce with a lil of spicy. Another unique dish - Pumpkin tofu, unlike the usual salted egg, homemade minced tofu, and claypot, this Pumpkin tofu is pan-fried and has a thin crispy skin on the outside, very soft, melt in your mouth. Minced meat is scattered generously with tasty overflowing pumpkin gravy. Prawn roll is deep fried to perfection, crunchy crispy skin and juicy meat with cubes of fresh chestnut in it! The Yang Chow Fried Rice has the wok-hei taste with generous portion of ingredients too! โ

Curry Fish Head is one of their ever-popular dish and is one of our fav dish too. They uses fresh Red Snapper and the fish head is relatively big for the price, very meaty. Fish meat is very smooth and silky, with no fishy smell๐๐ป. Apart from the fish head, thereโs also Tau Pok, brinjal and lady fingers fully soaked in that irresistible signature curry gravy! Curry gravy is very fragrant, not too spicy and thereโs also chilli leaves, lemongrass and dried shrimp in it which makes it so delicious! If you love to have more curry gravy like us, you can top up $5 for more curry gravy. If you prefer more veg in your curry fish head you may also top up another $5 for more. โ

Hk-styled steamed sea bass. Lady boss recommended this species as it was on promotion that day. Fresh and well cooked.
Old school dish. Yam ring had soft texture with a thin crisp outer crust. Filled with chicken cubes, prawns, mixed vegetables and cashews.

Chicken Bikini Skin, $8. Not a fan of chicken skin, but we were recommended by our friends to try this dish. We decided to order a small portion and, this is IMPRESSIVE!! Chicken skin is deep fried to total crispiness! Itโs so so crispy and crunchy that it doesnโt feels like chicken skin at all! Surprising itโs not oily at all! So good and tasty to eat it on its own or you may dip in their chilli sauce too! This totally change our impression of a chicken skin.. n if you were to ask us if we would eat it again, the answer is yes because itโs finger licking good!! Highly recommend dish when you visits Sum Kee food in your next visit! .

This zhi char place has both air con and outdoor seats.
This $18 Pig trotter bee Hoon is not bad but we prefer the Paradise restaurant version as here they use the canned pig trotter.
Otherwise the gravy beehoon with lots of crispy lards are quite tasty and we recommend eat with their sambal chilli
Free parking in the compound. We rate 7/10.
Har Cheong Gai came with crispy servings of fried batter and flavourful belachan (tastes different from the usuals) which complemented the fried stuff well.
The Volcano Tofu is on the special menu, and is one of the must-orders here! It's a pancake with a mixture of minced tofu with large water chestnuts, topped with special sauce (curry powder in it!) and many yam ring ingredients like chicken cubes, capsicum, carrots, onions and cashew nuts.
The Stir-fried Mee Sua was surprisingly good; with sufficient wok hei and not neglecting the saltiness and flavour of the entire dish. The ratio of ingredients (vegetables, pork slices, fish cake and omelette pieces) to meesua was just right. Recommended to order for sharing if you have zero feels for rice!
The Nai Bai was crunchy and not overly salty nor oily. It evidently was blanched and lightly stir-fried before serving.
Claypot Pork Liver is the ๆ็ of this zichar restaurant! I don't eat pork liver cos of the after taste which lingers but I had 5 pieces from this claypot of ginger-spring onion-sesame oil-based sauce of crunchy pork liver served bubbling hot. ่ถ ๅฅฝไธ้ฅญ็!
Lastly, the cereal prawns ($39 for M) was extremely disappointing. Although they were larger than usual prawns, the prawns were not fresh enough and the cereal was too fine and did not have the 'I want more more more cereal in my rice' feel. ):
BUT HERE ITS A MUST ORDER cause its so different and tender?? Omg๐คฃ Their signature horfun also lives up to its name. And I think after KEKโs every other chilli crab out there is just a disappointment for the price point vs portion size๐ฉ They set the bar too high hahaha. Sum Keeโs curry fish head came in a massive pot and only costs $26??? WORTH IT. Not a fan of fried food but the volcano tofu is just WOW.
