The interior was juicy but skin is a little thick
Overall still pretty decent
Usually it's filled with banana but this was too small to enclose I think so there's bits of banana mixed in.
The banana comes through very nicely, I really liked it!
It's a middle ground between the usual rugged shredded bingka ubi and the smooth true blue cuisine kind of dense Kueh.
It's alright, there's bits of tapioco inside
Ridiculously good. To call it a cake is amiss, only the exterior is cake-like, the rest of it is really just good, soft Kueh. The pandan and the balanced sweetness come together so well. I wanted to warm it up after taking it out of a fridge. Before I knew it I had finished half of it alr >< Needless to say, it's a MUST try
RANT:
This single slice prompted me to think again about how come Kueh places can sell a piece at 5++ and so many people, including myself, happily pay for it. Yeah it's handmade and wtv but the improvement in taste(compared to this benchmark) is very limited, if at all. Ridiculous. If a shop in wisma atria is selling a piece at 1.2, it's a bit too much to sell at 5 no? Not to mention if you double the portion and put a scoop of ice cream next to it, it's easily a restaurant's signature dessert at 15++. The absurdity of this dining scene, and the acclamation these humble, solid places deserve.
Baked coconut tart.
Like the buttery crust.
Sweet snack for anytime.
Not bad at all.
Instead of the usual seri muka, this uses pumpkin for the custard and pulut hitam as the base. How to not love?
