Quite mild filling but somehow very endearing, super soft skin when it's hot and fresh in the morning. Not bad at all
It's alright, nothing spectacular. Beef could have been abit more tender
The waffle was okay, not super crispy but i guess it depends on the person making it. The cold cream cheese pairing tho was pretty good, could be abit more generous tho as it's still abit dry but otherwise the umami comes thru, almost abit like mayo when it's cold
Preorder to skip the queue. Highly recommended cos the queue is long and it's very hot to queue there
The sweet one was lousy, hopefully it's an anomaly cos it's dry and theres an unpleasant flakiness. Theres also a bit of saltiness, and not enough sweetness.
The salty one wasnt so much salty, as less sweet. However this was much better baked, with a nice crispy crust that's quite different from your normal tau sar piah. The filling was complex and unique too for both, just much better for the salty one. It's more of a very smooth paste than a powdery filling that people are more used to. Seems like it's very normal that people like the salty one more, but I'm pretty sure the pastry is supposed to the same standard normally
Overall is it overhyped? Yeah if you're queueing, otherwise it's pretty acceptable. Best in Singapore is abit of a stretch as usual, for somethinh that's so different from the norm. But for this price it's hard to find something that's definitively a lot better I guess. House of tau sar piah had a powdery kind of filling which wowed me while this didn't as much so there's that(maybe it's the expectations though)
Langue de chat is my favourite plain cookie but theirs tastes 50% like a cheap version. Well this was complimentary so wtv
Pay directly at the tea egg stand, cash only
One of the decent ones, you can tell the broth peentrated into the white. The centre is overcooked though, making it dry. They leave it boiling at too high a temperature, that's why. It's also too hot to immediately eat
Again the filling of Coconut is pretty well done, there's butter mixed in I believe to bring out the aroma of coconut more. However the bread was average
The filling was pretty soft, exterior is abit dry tho and there's no crisp after sitting out for a while
Their custard is pretty unique actl, it's kinda goopy and slightly sticky-ish. Hard to describe but it's not bad. Worth a try if you're in the area
Lousy. No crisp, difficult to get out of the aluminium, mush inside
Rlly rlly soft, almost watery and very smooth too. Good stuff, beats many hawkers
Lao ban is pretty good, there's the thickness that soy Inc has. Soy Inc is still better though
