Having the choice of German food in a coffeeshop is a wonderfully refreshing concept. This Swiss-German stall serves up awesome crispy German Pork Knuckles ($15 for half, or $25 for whole portions) served with peppery potato mash, and creatively replaces the traditional sauerkraut with a delightful achar. Another popular item is their Oxtail Stew ($18.90) — chunks of super tender oxtail immersed in rich broth — perfect for sharing! Stomach-warming stews, crackling pork knuckles and refreshing beers definitely make for a perfect night out with your best friends.
Two hulking slabs of pork knuckle that boast fork-tender meat and the crispiest crackling sitting atop a bed of achar. Unorthodox, but it works so well. This was part of a platter that comes with grilled pork & cheese sausages, hash browns, potato mash, and grilled peppers & cheese. Good for a group of four or two hungry champions.
Fabulously crispy pork knuckle 😍, the meat was well marinated with lots of herbs and didn't have the dreaded pork smell & it was so tender. Also came with two large sausages, hot & crisp hash browns and baked root vegetables with cheese. Loved the very Asian side of achar too, refreshing in a plate of pretty heavy food. Super huge portion, good for 4-5 pax to share as a main (S$38).
Honestly, I wouldn't pay the price of $11.50 for a pasta in a hawker centre. But the Caesar salad was still acceptable for a relatively good proportion for $7 with smoked salmon.
