U get a choice of Base and you can mix anything i believe. I got the kimchi rice and cilantro lime rice. Took away so didnt feel the rice was anything special at all, tho it might be different if u eat it on the spot. Beef Short ribs were quite tender and fatty, though it doesnt seem like it needs 40hours to achieve. Meanwhile pork belly and shoulder were coated in a sweet red sauce. Lava egg was perfect tho, and they allow you to add all the toppings. Overall, decently satisfying but the portion was incredibly generous. Im a big eater and being completely hungry, i still almost couldnt finish it

This place was highly recommended by my boss since... last month? Haha... but I was too lazy to walk to MBFC to get my takeaway. Then, I found out that they have another outlet at golden shoe. Perfect walking distance for me, glad that I tried this. The pork belly was so awesome and I simply enjoyed the tangy flavour. I chose kimchi rice as my base. For those who are not too keen on having carbs or lesser carbs, you can opt for salad base or half rice and half salad base.
What I ordered:
1 x Pork Bowl = S$ 8.50
1 × Add Ramen Egg = S$ 0.80
Total Bill with 7% GST = S$ 9.95

Add the ramen egg for additional $0.80! The ramen egg was the highlight of my rice bowl! Very flavourful with a semi runny yolk in it!
The mix of flavours in this bowl was amazing! Never thought Korean Mexican fusion would produce such a good result! Every mouthful contains a mix of sweetness, tangyness, saltiness. Also, it is super filling and definitely makes a work day better! I'm already looking forward to my next lunch break which I can have this again.
Oh and there's another outlet now at Raffles Place near golden shoe!
Burpplers working in the CBD will appreciate this takeaway option. Located at the basement of Marina Bay Financial Centre, Ssäm (meaning 'wrapped' in Korean) crafts protein-packed bowls that will keep you fuelled throughout the day. It's one of the most massive bowls we've had — great for filling a big eater's tummy but small eaters might want to share this with a colleague. Head down early to snag their tasty cilantro lime rice and top it with the unbelievably tender 40-hour Korean BBQ marinated beef short ribs ($9.50). Unless you opt out, the bowl is completed with sides of tangy kimchi, tomato salsa, onion lime relish, pickled cucumbers, kimchi and seaweed, and topped with sesame seeds and fried shallots. Prices have been revised since our last visit and the new addition of portobello mushroom to the proteins section will excite mushroom lovers!

If you're craving for a meal with a medley of exciting flavours, this is a good place. I chose half kimchi rice and half salad as my base and beef short rib for my protein ($9.50). I love a spicy-sour combination, so the kimchi salsa, tomato radish and seasoned vegetables in this bowl were right up my alley. I didn't feel it was very spicy, actually I wish it had more of a kick. The beef short rib was very tender, as you'd expect from a 48 hour long cooking time. They are so generous with their ingredients so there's no question whether you'll get your money's worth dining here. Your palate is totally satisfied with this bowl -- there's sweet, spicy, sour and salty all covered here. Just one complaint: I wish the protein, at least, could be served hot. It's so flavourful now, imagine the flavours amplified!
Pork belly/shoulder rice bowl with cilantro lime rice. Hearty portion, generous amount of meat, flavour packed and only at $8! Really love the rice and can eat a whole bowl of it as it is 😋
If Korean and Mexican food had a lovechild, this hole-in-the-wall shop at the basement of Marina Bay Financial Centre (sandwiched between Aloha Poke and Four Seasons Gourmet Market) would be it. Ssäm (meaning 'wrapped' in Korean) crafts protein-packed bowls that will keep you fuelled throughout the day. Order the cilantro lime rice and top it with the unbelievably tasty 40-hour Korean BBQ marinated beef short ribs ($9). Unless you opt out, the bowl is completed with sides of tangy kimchi and tomato salsa, onion lime relish, pickled cucumbers, kimchi and seaweed, and topped with sesame seeds and fried shallots. If you have change to spare, add on the Egg ($0.80) or treat yourself to a scoop of Guacamole ($2.50).

This is the perfect healthy-ish meal for those who require a bit more proteins and carbs in their diet. Love the beef ribs (tastes like Yoshinoya's thin slices of beef) and the flavourful kimchi and tomato salsa! Best to mix everything together like how you would with a bibimbap! Only wished I left office earlier to snag a bowl of the cilantro lime rice :(
😁 yummy Korean-inspired salad, and there are other carby options for those who need more sustenance 👍🏼 #xuannyeatsclean #healthy #lunch #burpple #foodporn
A great blend of raw veg on top of chicken bites and kimchi rice as base. You can choose lime rice. Taste so good. Yumz.
SSÄM at MBFC offers fusion of Korean and Mexican cuisine inspired by popular food trucks in the USA.
The Rice Bowl, with options of burritos and salads, is priced afford-ably from $7.50 to $9.00.
The serving comes with a choice of kimchi rice or cilantro lime rice, paired with a protein such as pork belly and shoulder, topped with other ingredients such as fresh basil, tomato salsa and kimchi.

Trekked out to Marina Bay today for this. Not the most pretty looking (my friend's looked less haphazard) but wow this was GOOD. I went for the half rice half salad in a bid to prevent a food coma. The lime cilantro rice was tasty but the true stars were the toppings - the beef short ribs was super tender and flavorful, and the sheer number of condiments... There was kimchi, fried shallots, seaweed, pickled cucumbers, sesame seeds, some kind of green sauce (pesto? I think salsa verde but it wasn't spicy). Myriad of flavours and every bit gives you something different. Less than $10 for a huge serving, going as low as $7 for chicken. Top up $0.80 for a ramen egg (another of my faves!) Definitely a gem.
There's ssam-thing sandwiched between Four Seasons Gourmet Market and Viet Baguette Café that ought to be the talk of the town, at least amongst those who work in the CBD. Operating mainly as a takeout joint (there are two bar tables that sit a max of three pax each) that bangs out healthy Korean and Mexican fusion grub, Ssam (which means 'wrapped' in Korean) is a fantastic choice for carnivores. The show-stoppers of this salad bowl are its meats — 40-hour Korean BBQ marinated beef short ribs, ginger soy chicken thigh, and the crowd favourite kimchi sweet and sour shoulder and pork belly with crackling skin (!). You can have a salad, rice bowl or burrito, of which the latter two come stuffed with a generous portion of cilantro lime rice, kimchi rice or hash browns. Opt for the Ssam Salad ($7.50-9 depending on your choice of protein) — think fragrant basil and romaine lettuce, with tangy kimchi and tomato salsa, onion lime relish, pickled cucumbers, kimchi and seaweed with unbelievably tasty beef short ribs, all topped with sesame seeds and fried shallots! For the herbivores, go for the equally tasty Sesame Soy Kimchi Tofu. Jinjja daebak!
Korean-Mexican fusion kinda yummy lunch! You can't probably tell what's in it with the large servings and variety of toppings all piled up. I had a half salad half kimchi rice base and beef short ribs topped with a Japanese ramen egg ($0.80), then finished off with kimchi, tomato salsa, onion lime relish, pickled cucumbers, seaweed, sesame seeds and shallots (fresh basil is also available but i didn't opt for it). Guacamole can be added at an extra cost. It's great to have the option to have half rice half salad, keeping it healthy and it's filling too! The beef short ribs were so well seasoned and that myriad of flavors from the various toppings kept the whole bowl very interesting throughout my meal! Be there early to grab a seat at one of their 2 small tables or just simply have it to-go.
$9 for a Mexican/Korean fusion rice bowl. Super yums. Love the tender beef slices & the healthy vegetables toppings. They do sell out pretty early.
For 8 bucks this is a really good deal. Had the crackling pork belly on kimchi rice with an assortment of sides. Very flavorful. The portions were super generous too!
Value for money! Well seasoned chicken chunks with a lot of toppings, such as kimchi, pesto, tomato relish etc
With a side of 🌽Classic Green from @living_botanica - switching it up between cold press juice and fresh juice (making up for the lack of greens🥗...)
