I recently visited SL II for the first time and was excited to try their baked goods. I opted for the Walnut and Chocolate Chip Muffins and their Coconut Tarts.
The Coconut Tart was an absolute standout for me. The filling was incredibly fluffy, soft, and had a delightful fragrant flavor that really impressed me. It’s rare to find a coconut tart that balances texture and taste so well, and this one definitely hit the mark.
As for the Walnut and Chocolate Chip Muffins, they were equally enjoyable—soft, moist, and aromatic. It’s clear that SL II knows how to bake muffins right.
Can’t believe I haven’t tried their egg tarts before this! Their crust is the cookie crust type, which was crunchy and sweet, and rather resilient - was still slightly crunchy even after a day in the fridge. The egg custard is supper jiggly, smooth and light, was pudding-like which is not typically my preference but I still rly liked it somehow. Thought this was not as sweet as some other egg tarts out there!
Can you tell the difference between these muffins? ‘Cause I can’t.
My mum bought an assortment of muffins including banana, blueberry, cranberry orange, walnut and chocolate chip (not seen in the photo) fillings.
Overall, these muffins are soft and fluffy however we wish they can be more generous with the fillings within.
