Beef was good but can’t believe they serve ice cream from Magnolia from the plastic tub... went for the mid range premium beef at 40 plus plus per pax and missing shabu Sai somehow

The Japanese first class wagyu option is $72.90++. The meat is really tender and fatty and the staff are helpful. We preferred the yuzu stock. Mix your own condiments for more flavour. I also really enjoyed the vegetable curry on Japanese rice and the konnyaku noodles (shirataki).

We also ordered sake and added it to our stock.

There is a 90 min limit! But we ate our coconut ice cream (included in the buffet) standing near the cashier lol. We were still happy.

They have a range of buffet prices with a range of meat quality. We had the Standard Course which was $24.90 and the beef was pretty good. The soup bases are quite unique and tasty as well!

Located within Japan Food Town in Wisma Atria, Shabu Shabu Gyu Jin serves pretty quality meats in a reasonably priced buffet setting — perfect for ravenous appetites! You can choose to have the meats shabu shabu, sukiyaki or yakiniku (barbecue) style. Burppler Siming T really enjoyed the Sukiyaki (from $31.90 for American beef, prices vary according to type of beef chosen), which sees thinly sliced meat cooked in a pot of umami-rich sauce heavily seasoned with soy. It's delicious but rather rich, so pace yourself. Apart from the beef, there are other meats including pork belly, chicken thigh and pork loin, along with a selection of fresh vegetables from the bar, Japanese curry rice and ice cream. It's good enough a deal for us to set aside the fact that there's a time limit on on our meal — the standard course allows diners 70 minutes to dine.
Pro tip: If you're lucky enough to steal out for a long lunch, come by for the 60-minute lunch buffet (from $24.90, daily from 11am-3pm).

Sukiyaki is just another type of authentic Japanese fare, and Shabu Shabu Gyu Jin also offers the Sukiyaki option. With different types of meats such as beef (prices are tiered according to the type of beef), pork belly, chicken thigh and pork loin to choose from, one can have a quick all-you-can-eat buffet with complimentary vegetables bar, Japanese curry rice and ice cream. Personally I think their sliced American beef and pork loin tasted pretty good with the Sukiyaki. Plain water (free) is the perfect beverage to wash down the rich flavours of the sukiyaki sauce.

I could not make it for their 60-minute lunch buffet (from S$24.90, available 11.00am - 3.00pm), but their 70-minute Standard Course (S$31.90) was also a pretty good deal. Go ahead and order more trays of your favourite meat to make your money's worth.

At Shabu Shabu Gyu Jin, Hidaka harvested Mitsuishi Kelp Dashi fills one half of your hotpot. As their standard, this broth comes with all shabu shabu sets. Five different soup stocks they offer, with yuzu salt, savoury and spicy, and creamy salted rice malt dashi as their options to consider.

Start with a swish of American beef submerged in dashi (broth) made with konbu (kelp), having its quality in all originality. Fatty strips of pork ribs are sweet while pork loin slices are toughest, with chicken thigh biting more tender. Cooked in very light broth, robust flavour of meat undoubtedly fills your mouth.

Suki Dashi flavoured our other half. The dark broth masks a fair amount of meatiness with a fragrant sweetness. Mix your own concoction from the bar’s options, but ponzu and gomadare (sesame) are set on each table. A light dip in tangy and salty ponzu sauce, makes a refreshingly balance to the suki dashi the meats pick up.

Boil in vegetables and try dipping them in gomadare. Leftover broth at the end is customarily combined with the remaining rice and the suki dashi combines delightfully with the sweet sticky grain as the last part of the meal.
