At first glance I was excited to break into this white block thinking it had a meringue like texture. However, it turned out to be this soggy and foamy consistency, which in my opinion did not go well at all with the rich rhubarb sorbet.
There is not a burrata that isn’t happier cozying up to juicy pulpy tomatoes. Also noteworthy was that tangy and sweet compote, along with surprisingly subtle smoky notes from the rich spun paste creamy burrata.
Sautéed baby peas and red onions. That sweetness and deep green vegetable are like none other, making them such great accompaniment to our steak.
This side really rocked our steak. These brussels are roasted at a high heat to bring out the natural sugars and caramelize the edges, then tossed with toasty hazelnuts and a glug of maple syrup. Got to love the subtle sweetness from maple syrup and salty, smokiness from the bacon.
Limited special alfresco dining promotion. Amazing value for this soul satisfying piece of steak that has been cooked to a pinkish medium rare perfection. Meltingly tender, notably juicy and beefy.
Overall I liked the dish, it's a pretty decent steak. There was a strong smokey flavour and I liked that they did not have to season the meat much, allowing the meaty flavour to really come through. The slightly disappointing thing is that the steak was not cooked to the same doneness through the steak. I asked for medium rare but half of the steak was more medium than medium rare. So towards the end it got a bit too tough for my liking. The steak itself comes with some garlic and salt, you'll have to top up for sauce and sides.
