I haven’t had such a tasty toasted bread in a while! The typical all day breakfast ingredients were well done, nothing to complain about 😌 Add-on mushroom soup was good too. I’m wondering why I haven’t tried Saybons until now even though I’ve walk past it so many times at Junction 8.
🤤
It was a Wagyu Hamburg steak on beetroot risotto. Unfortunately, its taste didn’t match up to the brilliant colours.
The Wagyu Hamburg was a tad too tough, partly cos it was kinda overcooked. On it’s own, the party was also quite salty.
There were beetroot chunks in the risotto which was nice, but it was really lacking any taste other than the al dente bite. The egg couldn’t help much too. Perhaps the intent was to eat it with the steak on every bite to even out the taste; but for me that balance could be better executed.
Overall, a pretty and decent dish, though they probably do better in their soups.
Plain whole meal crepe served with argulars, cheese, tomatoes, egg and herbed chicken thigh for $15.90. I think the serving was really generous and most importantly it’s damn tasty.
Seafood Bisque ($5.60)
.
This seafood bisque @saybonssg was definitely full of umami goodness from the prawns but for its size, may not exactly be worth the price ala carte. This is best had as part of the drink and soup set (+$5) for every main course ordered.
Mushroom Chicken Risotto ($14.90)
.
This was my first time trying out the main courses @saybonssg , more known for their soups. Surpringly, this risotto tasted better than expected. There was a generous serving of mushrooms and the chicken breast was not overcooked! Definitely take the opportunity to top up $5 to get a cup of their signature soup and a drink!
.
Pumpkin broth and hint of curry powder, asparagus and chicken fillet.
