This has been my go-to staple for me near the office. I really love the heaps of assorted fresh greens in my bowl 🤤🌳 Just be careful not to overdo the fish sauce! All in all, a scruptous savoury mix of everything I want to feel nourished for the rest of the day ahead.
I had the pho before at their Katong shop and didn’t know a new branch was opened at Havelock II. Decide to try their Bibimbap. It was good. Very generous amount of vegetables and pork. You can have it with sunny side up or poach egg (I chose the sunny side). Mixed them with their concoction of fish sauce and there you have it. Very flavourful. Think the price was $12.90 or $13.90. I can’t really remember as I had this 3 weeks ago, this review was overdue. The beef pho at their Katong shop was good, the soup was very rich. Will try it at the new place since it’s nearer to my office. Another option now for Viet food in town.
I've been eating at the East Coast shop since they opened in 2011 and they have recently opened a branch near my office. Yay! This location is at Havelock II, between people's park ctr and Clarke Quay Central. My usual order is #101, the signature Vietnamese baguette, with additional pate (add $1). The quality of the baguette has dropped over the years (used to be the crustiest available in sg but now it's only semi-crusty). Prices here are also quite steep especially considering that cbd has many good lunch deals (honorable mention to the $9.90++ set lunches at Lucky Saigon nearby) so I hope they do something with the pricing soon. Pho, rice and spring rolls are also available.
Fresh, authentic Vietnamese food and decent portions! This dish is bun cha, which is grilled fatty pork served over white rice noodles and garnished with mint leaves and lots of cucumber. The addition of peanuts and shallots added a nice crunch with every bite! Also loved the accompanying fried spring rolls. Yumm. - J
