Had this traditional Lor Mee ($4.50) after a long while. I like that they have their own handmade meatball in it. The gravy wise kind of watery.

Overall, not bad for a neighborhood food if you live around the area.

The limelight at 787 Choa Chu Kang S-11 has always been on Feng Zhen Lor Mee, but this Xing Hua noodles from A Yan Fishball Mee truly deserves to be mentioned. Again another undiscovered gem that made me overjoy. No fanciful ingredients apart from egg, cabbage, minced pork, fishcake and shiitake mushroom. The umami pork broth, especially as the noodles and ingredients get soaked in, was belly comforting and imparted a slight smokiness from the wok hei. Slurped every bit despite the substantial portion. There’s also an option of bee tai bak for this homely dish, or a dry bee hoon version that has lesser variety of ingredients. Packs extra punch but don’t underestimate its spiciness, that’s all I would say of the chili.

The queue here is relentless as usual and a sip of the gravy explains the reason perfectly. The full-bodied gravy goes with the noodles perfectly; with every strand coated with the starchy gravy 😍 The myriad of ingredients swimming in the bowl makes the queue and the price worth every bit.

Definitely a great way to mark the end of a work week with our favourite bowl of Lor Mee over lunch.

The Lor Mee here goes for $3 normally but when you lunch with a Physical Ed teacher, he naturally goes off the menu and get a $4 one 😂

Probably one of the only reasons to wake up early in the morning. Blessed to have this Feng Zhen Lor Mee within walking distance from my place. This stall, helmed by the daughter of the famous Taman Jurong outlet, serves up bowls of hearty and full-bodied gravy. The Gosh nuggets are coated with only a thin layer of batter, allowing you to taste the freshness of the fish within with every bite. I also like that every bowl comes with its signature meat balls, adding an extra oomph. But I will still recommend that you get an extra serving of the meat balls ($1) to have them at their crunchy best ◡̈ Special mention goes out to pieces of pork belly hidden within as well. Do come early if you want to try this as the stall usually close by noon daily!

Served with fried meatballs and the standard lor mee items, what totally stand out is the on-point gravy, where you can customise it with your own preference of chilli, garlic and vinegar. You can also choose to top up fried items like the ngoh hiang, fried fish or egg beancurd to enhance your meal.

This is the only long queue stall in this hawker so it’s very easy to find.
The most impressive thing in this bowl is the fish jiao (fish cake) you can directly tell very fresh with warm and delightful soft texture. There’s a surprise of prawn chunk in it too.
Just mix all the sambal in the spoon, it’s kicking spicy and very good!
