Early Morning I was looking for Popiah, but they dont have it at around 7am,So I take this Lite breakfast. Coffee is tasty and dont have this after taste, egg and bread perfect match.
Looking forward to have popiah in the opening timing 😊
Look at that huge pool of chili! It wasn’t that spicy if you don’t add in those chili on the spoon. I would say the quality check at the Suntec outlet was not consistent. Smooth laksa gravy but lacking the coconut fragance. One of taupok was so bare and “empty” that you can literally stuff noodles in.
No idea why the prawn is smaller in size though. But qiji popiah has never fail me till now. The only thing that this branch have to make improvement on is the cashier. Looks like he is very pissed with his Saturday duty.
Savoury popiah from Qiji- filled with prawns and generous spread of chopped hard boiled eggs, radish strips + prawn paste! Could have added a lot more peanut bits to up the ooomph factor.
$3.50/piece
(+):
- thin and chewy skin
- v generous amount of fillings!!!!
- popiah skin does not turn soggy even after it has been left aside for a few hours
- consistent quality
- Qiji is a halal-certified eatery! which means I can dine here with my Muslim friends hehe
- there are quite a number of Qiji outlets across the island
(-):
- the sweet sauce in the popiah is a little too sweet for my liking; I need to remember to ask for less sweet sauce the next time I get their popiah
- popiah is slightly pricy at $2.30 per roll
rating: 9/10
Love qiji popiahs so much due to the generous fillings, and somehow the skin remains chewy and soft without getting soggy and breaking apart too easily. Their popiahs are more on the sweet side as they are generous with the sweet sauce. Highly recommended!
