The sauce may be free of cream, however the sauce is still wrong. I think there's a misconception about creamless carbonara, anyone can throw egg and cheese tgt, but true carbonara has a particular creamy umami, not empty sourness which is common amongst the creamless carbonara here

Overall, we didn't have a pleasant experience here at all. Music was way too loud, they had this very shaky table, and the service was not attentive at all. Apart from once, we had to call them over for everything from refilling water to clearing plates. What's crazy is that we were literally the first table indoor and the only table for quite a while, so I'm really not sure what the service team was doing

So obviously mushroom soup isn't necessarily available every day

They don't sell half portions, they split one portion into two for 2 pax. Honestly this is enough for one pax

Well tbh this is a slightly above average mushroom soup. The thickness is appropriate, but the flavour isnt superb. The roasted mushroom is pretty decent tho, but each piece is too small

My second time at Publico and this time I was seated inside. They messed up our reservation and had to wait close to 30 min before we were seated.

Pasta weren’t great- the only one worth getting IMO was the beef lasagna which honestly is also quite expensive. But compared to the Linguine Vongole ($28) which was bland and tiny, this was way better. Pizzas are a safer choice.

We got the Deep Fried Mars Bars and Oreos ($16) for dessert and it was doughy. Very much preferred the ones from Chippy’s instead.

Music was also overwhelmingly loud. We found ourselves having to shout to each other which wasn’t pleasant at all.

Other than the ambience which was beautiful, I doubt I will return again considering it’s already my second time.

Mafaldine Slow Cooked Lamb Ragu (S$34++) - nice tomato base, with the tender slow-cooked lamb ragu flavour coming through prominently. Topped with roasted chilli and mint gremolata.

Publico Woodfired Mediterranean Octopus (S$34++) - enjoyed this as the woodfired Mediterranean octopus was just nice and not too chewy, and went well with the baby potato, garlic confit cream, fried chickpea, fried prosciutto, charred kale, pistachio crumbs, lemon vinaigrette.

𝐁𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐳𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 (4 ⭐️; $30) - Smooth and creamy mozzarella paired with rocket, cherry tomatoes, and a herbaceous basil pesto sauce. Enjoyed the gentle saltiness and tanginess of the fresh cheese.

𝐋𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢 (3.5 ⭐️; $46) - Indulgent pasta with a generously-sized and tasty half Boston lobster. The tomato-based sauce was a more standard tangy mix with white wine; personally would have preferred for stronger seafood or zesty flavour.

Wasn’t expecting this huge dessert pizza! But it was so crisp n good! Ate a piece and ta bao the rest home! All at home loved it too! Can imagine their savoury pizza should be awesome. Will come back here for their famous pizzas next time for sure! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for this restaurant!
