The sweet tsp filling was very soft, they lightly sweetened the green bean so it’s not too sweet. The salty filling was quite melt-in-the-mouth, pretty savoury and flavourful; my friend and I liked it! Would repurchase :)
Pastry was crisp and flaky, black sesame filling was earthy with sweetness that was just nice - not too little such that it tastes bland, and not too much such that it is overly sweet. I’ve walked past many many times without getting anything, so thank you to my friend for gifting it to me! Will return to try other traditional Chinese snacks :)
From one of the oldest confectionaries in Singapore .
I fell In love with these freshly made Teochew black pepper salty bean biscuits (胡椒饼).
The crust is thin and crisp and the homemade salty bean fillings are not too sweet at all. Accentuated with black pepper .
Amazing combination .
Same same but different .
Just 1.30 per pastry but so huge .
Would go for this anytime as compared to the branded ones - you know who 🤣.
It’s my favourite traditional cake house located at opposite of Hong Lim Market. We always brought both flavour (Sweet and Sour) for Tau Sar Piah. Sometimes I preferred traditional over current trend for dessert. Sweet Tau Sar Piah tasted like sweet and strong bean paste whereas sour Tau Sar Piah tasted like savoury and fried onions paste. Do support them for traditional and local dessert if you all passby Hong Lim Market.

A fairly big box. Bigger than my yearly-must-have Tai Thong love letters and more expensive by only $4. Lovely coconut fragrance and not too sweet. Very addictive cos of its crunch. I think this was crispier/harder than TT.
