I was thrilled to find a non dairy option available! Was too acidic for my liking, maybe itβs just cos Iβm not a fan of cold brew coffee in general. Pricy too, $8 for a smallish cup.
Oriole Truffle Burger ($18) from @oriolecoffee at @capitolpiazza pleased the crowd with its fluffy brioche bun and thick juicy sous-vide beef patty.
The weather may be gloomy but there's nothing a nicely fried fish & chips can't fixed! The classic Fish & Chips ($20) has 3 crunchy battered yet moist snapper fillets and spiced fries, it was not out of the world amazing but it was substantially tasty. π
$6 for a coffee and pastry in the heart of town. Excellent value.
I opted for the pistachio cake, which came nicely warmed up. It wasn't overly sweet and was topped with a deliciously runny chocolate ganache. Some might find it a tad dry, but I thought it was still alright. The coffee was pretty good as well.
(Now I am tempted to order another one π)
On the rare occasion that I'm not in the mood for coffee and happen to be at Oriole, I always go for their M.A.D Milk - a cold press blend of macadamias nuts, almond nuts and dates.
An oldie, but goodie. ππΌ
I totally rate Oriole's fish & chips (at least the one at Somerset), but this was quite a disappointment. The chips were as expected, no qualms there. But the fish pieces were solid, flakes stuck together, poorly seasoned and didn't come with a lemon wedge. What a shame.
This was my first time eating the food at Oriole Capitol Piazza. Others had ordered the beef cheek tagliatelle and burgers and those were also reportedly subpar. I guess it really does depend on the chef because I've made this fish & chips order multiple times at their Somerset branch and it has always been perfection.
ππΌ I wouldn't pay $20 for this again (at this location).
