I decided to order another variation - seafood ($6) plus add on rice (50 cents) beside their famous fish soup. But tbh seafood they got a lot of ingredients such as fishball, Yong tau foo, also abalone 😯 beside their normal fish. They invested too much ingredients for seafood version tbh. Really enjoy their soup broth tbh even though a lot of fish soup stall at there and its just literally best of best tbh.
One of high recommendation stall frm food website. I ordered Fish Soup ($6) topped w Rice ($0.50). But I felt that fish soup was quite comforting and plain (not much taste). They put a lot of fish pieces and vegetables inside the soup.
Rainy day calls for fish soup!
The key to good fish soup is the broth, I’d say. Clear yet flavourful and having absorbed all the essence there is, I can see why they were spotting a queue when I popped by.
There are a myriad of options available here - fish slices or fried fish, rice or bee hoon, various combination such as fish maw soup, red grouper fish head soup etc, I’m sure you’ll find something you enjoy here!
If you’re feeling peckish, order their fried beancurd to go with your fish soup, it’s both crispy and chewy at the same time!
Ordered the Char Siew ($4) , Prawn ($5) & Scallop ($6) Chee Cheong Fun. The Char Siew was scatter around the Chee Cheong Fun so every part of it you will likely get the Char Siew whereas for the Prawn & Scallop is one big piece type.
Overall, the filling inside is nice but is not something I would come all the way for it.
Paid a premium ($4 for small, usually $3) in view of CNY surcharges - rather unpalatable price given that this plate was average at best. Broth was on the thin side and overall sorely lacking in wok hei!
This chee cheong fan was silky and doused generously in a rather sweet light soya sauce with sesame oil and topped with lots of sesame seeds. The sauce may be a bit sweet for others, but I quite liked it. My parents also enjoyed the chilli that they have. They make each sheet freshly, steam it, and roll it up, so it was quite a wait (about 30 mins) and it’s exacerbated by the fact that people tend to order 5 plates or even take away 10 packets! Still, worth it if you have time and patience.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The prawns in this were fresh and crunchy, and I preferred it over the char siew one that I took away, because the char siew was a bit too sweet when coupled with the soya sauce. It’s stall 01-25 at Pek Kio Hawker Centre if you wanna try it out!
