I was craving for some late night snack the other time, and what a better option than some crispy, Cheese Egg pratas?! π This place is a hit and miss honestly, but among all the nearby alternatives, this one has me whipped the most β they do crispy pratas and they use stretchy type of cheese instead of the melty, processed ones. (7.4/10)
A tip for when youβre coming here: Do NOT get their plain or egg pratas. Theyβll serve you the pre-made ones. π
The prata sauce is to die for
This restaurant is one of the few that offer variaties of Indian food like Thosai, Naan, Capati, Beryani and etc at a very reasonable price in a air-condition surrounding and ambiance.
Pretty generous with the spiced potato fillings, which might cause the pancake to go a little soft, but fret not, the thosai stays crisp until the last bite. Served with a side of dhal, coconut gravy and sambar (tomato onion gravy) and boy..... youβve got a delightfully messy medley of spices and flavours.
piping hot fried rice full of ingredients and fresh seafood.. pretty tasty but I was a little disappointed cos it wasn't spicy at all and service was slow.. but the flavour of the food made up for it.. it's open 24hrs for the night owls in the east #burrple #gettingfatwhilewaiting #whileimwaitingfortheloml #lomljns #lomljnck
This is not just any mountain of fries. Underneath are tender slices of chopped mutton, egg with deliciously runny yolk and some large pieces of tomato/cucumbers. A favourite choice from this stall. Other popular dishes are their prata and nasi briyani.
You usually see Mee Siam, Mee Rebus, Mee Goreng........but Mee Bandung?
My chance encounter with this dish dates back to my SAJC days where the only muslim stores in the canteen will serve this on alternate Fridays at limited portion (very limited edition hor?)
It then became a ritual on Thursdays evening after basketball practice to ask the Auntie whether it was available the next day. Sadly, Friday are always the longest day of the week for me without any breaks! I would often chiong down straight after class to check in for a bowl of this savoury sweet goodness!! So much so that the Auntie always remembers to specially keep a portion for me πTill then I couldn't find a similar ones comparable to her rendition!
Yesterday, for supper I had Mr Prata Mee Bandung ( not much places sell it... so... see must try liao) unfortunately, it wasnt as good. This version was more spicy, sourish savoury kind. But really appetising gravy I would say! And it sure brought back some college memorises of mine!!
Let me know if you know of this dish as well and whether there is a place that sells good Mee Bandung!! #hawkerpedia
