Hawker Eats And Local Delights
New mala joint at the Parkway Parade food court does not disappoint! It's flavorful and fragrant with the right amount of numbing heat. A bit expensive compared to other Mala places but it's air conditioned and quite comfortable.
I love mala anything and this one was deliciously tangy with a nice, smoldering burn. I'd say it was perfect, but it was too greasy for my liking, and the chicken chop doesn't help. Definitely worth trying just the same.
The prata sauce is to die for
From stall #02-06. I thought it was rojak at first but the uncle sharing the table with me said this is not how rojak is typically prepared. So I looked it up and learned that this was actually tow kwar pop - tofu puffs stuffed with cucumber and turnips, served with pineapples and sweet-salty sauce, just like rojak. If you hate cucumber like I do, you can ask the uncle to not include it. I have this dish every time I go to Tiong Bahru Market.
Finally tried the famous Katong Peter Fried Kway Teow and it is SO GOOD. Love the sweet black sauce they coat the noodles in.
Best char kway teow I've had at stall 02-11. Deep rich flavour and not too greasy.
