Ordered 2 portion of tteokbokki and came to find out from staff that each portion entitles you to the stew and 4 pieces of tteokbokki. Should not even call it tteokbokki on the menu
Extremely disappointing for the price paid.

Despite the multiple good reviews about this place, we found it so-so only or even below average army stew for its price point :-( Ordered mussel ($13.90/portion) + beef bugolgi ($13.90/portion) + ramen ($3) + fried rice ($5). Mussel wasnāt big nor the freshest and the beef ābulgogiā was such a disappointment. We did not taste any marinated bulgogi flavour and was just normal sliced beef.... (felt q cheated). Portion wasnāt that big as well. Taste-wise, the soup was on the sweeter side and wasnāt very soup-like but felt more like gravy unlike the usual army stews.
Sadly, we could definitely getting an army stew tastier and cheaper with a bigger portion. Only plus point is that fried rice was not bad (but slightly too watery for our liking) and it is halal.
āļø 2/5 (pls improve on ur ābulgogiā beef....)
Had our tteokbokki army stew with cheese and beef bulgogi! Broth had a good balance of sweet and spicy and the continuous slow boil and cheese really helped thicken the broth which made it even better!
Wholesome and satisfying Korean army stew that comes with generous amount of cheese! Not too spicy so itās perfect for non-spicy eaters.
Easties, swing by Downtown East for slightly sweet and spicy Budae Jigae ($13.90 per pax with a min. of two pax). Choose two main ingredients from chicken sausage, sliced beef, cheese, mushrooms or mussels ā a good combination would be cheese with mussels. The stew comes with tteokbokki, odeng, kimchi and eggs. Pro-tip: Do not leave the stew boiling for too lest the ingredients start sticking to the bottom of the pot!

Rich broth made even more tantalising with cheese as it bubbles its way down my stomach. Ramen x 3 over rice any day, a pity the soup base cannot be topped up but itās a good enough amount to satisfy my hunger this rainy day, especially after sliding down the rides in Wild Wild Wet! :)
