The best versions are around Ayer Itam but I found a very good one at Moh Teng Pheow Nyonya Koay in Georgetown.⠀
The restaurant itself is worth a visit. Think rustic and homely, and you'll be on track.⠀
Besides the assam laksa, the pastries are worth trying, and if you find nasi kunyit on the menu that day, order it. This is turmeric glutinous rice with curry, and it is HEAVENLY!

Good stuff, just like granny makes. This includes their kaya (egg jam) which they also sell. Swipe to pic10 to see the lady scooping up the kaya.

Assorted Nonya Kuih at a 96 year old Nonya Kuih (Straits Chinese snack) factory called Moh Teng Pheow 莫定標娘惹粿廠 off Chulia Street in Georgetown, Penang.

I found it so good I went back again the next day to tar pao lots more 'pulot inti' and some bak chang for sampling.

Famous nyona kuih shop tucked away in a nondescript alley. You can find a variety of nyona snacks here and my favourites were the kuih talam, pulut inti and kuih bengka ubi.

From RM0.50 per piece | You don’t get to see blocks of kueh kueh in front of you every day!

The stand-outs were the 1) #nyonyachang (3.5RM) which was small but real tasty & packed with meat & mushroom; 2) pulut tai tai (0.60RM) which was sticky purple rice with very flavorful kaya; 3) abuk abuk (3RM) which was soft and filled with tasty coconut without being overly sweet
