Generally imperceptible, the spicy and numbing element only reveals itself if you allow the broth to rest in your mouthly cavern before you experience ashy embers shyly envelope the length of your tongue. 3.4/5
Menya musashi's smoked duck ramen. They serve rather thick ramen. It would be better if their japanese soft boiled egg is not overly cooked.
Havenβt been to Menya in quite a while. I used to always go for their tsukemen but decided on something different - Tom Yum broth with thick ramen noodles and cha shu. It was not bad! The broth was tangy with a mild heat and itβs quite value for money for its size. There were bamboo shoots, chopped black fungus, half an ajitama, nori and two slices of cha shu. The ramen noodles were just a touch softer than I wouldβve liked but didnβt turn too soft throughout the meal.
Noodles were springy, soup was well seasoned. I asked for 2x noodles. Cha shu was crisp as it was supposedly aburi torched
Ordered the lunch set worth $12.90, exclusive of gst and svc charge. Total was about $15 for the meal and it comes with a bowl of ramen, a side dish and iced water/hot tea
Ordered the thin noodles, red soup base, and a side dish of chicken gyoza(not in pic)π very filling for a person and affordable lunch considering its the CBD area. The soup however gets a little salty towards the end but im fine with it since i like more salty kinds of foods haha.
Overall would rate it a 7.5/10 as the service is a little slower, due to the lack of staff maybe?
Damage: ~$14
Service is not good.
Chashu had really crispy and nicely grilled edges which were tasty. Eggs were perfect and soup was flavourful. Noodles itself is alright, nothing out of the ordinary. Pretty fine ramen is satisfy a ramen craving.
