Nice hidden place for fresh cuts of sashimi! Their lunch sets come with a nice compact bowl of Chirashi Don, Chawanmushi and miso soup. The Chirashi Don was pretty good and reasonable for its price, with fresh slices of salmon, tuna, swordfish, mekajiki, shrimp, prawn, scallop, tamagoyaki and even a small slab of unagi! π€€π€€ Chawanmushi was simple but well done, with ingredients like unagi, chicken and crab stick within. The miso soup was authentic, and even came with a prawn head! A little on the pricey side but pretty worth the price with great service (food came within 5-10 min so ππ» for efficiency!) ππ»ππ»
One of my favourite hole in a wall Japanese restaurant. Quality and fresh sashimi atop flavourful vinegar rice. And it comes with chawanmushi and miso soup.
Served with silky smooth chawanmushi and a comforting bowl of miso soup, this rice bowl is topped with a huge prawn, lavish cuts of sashimi and grilled eel (unagi) rolled in beautiful omelette (tamago). Serious overcrowding issue but I have absolutely no complaints. π
Behind the unassuming wooden door and quiet facade, the restaurant was bustling and filled with office crowd during weekday lunch time. π²
The set lunch menu ticks all the right boxes. Afforable price range from as low as $15, there are Beef Teriyaki Set, Tempura Set and Fried Chicken Set. Even the popular Chirashi Set is tagged at $18 only. π
Feeling famished, I decided to splurge a little and go for the most expensive set lunch - Matsuzushi Bento ($27). Be prepared that there won't be pretty and elegant cuts of sashimi. The cuts are irregular (in a good way) and very thick. So fresh, every mouthful is so shiok! π The prawns are plump and succulent. And the set is served with prawn miso soup and chawanmushi which has unagi hidden in this smooth and silky egg pudding. Variety plus great quality of food, this bento is worth every penny. Definitely coming back again! π
This place is very value-for-money for the quality and amount they give! Tucked away in a neighborhood, it is way better than your typical chain sushi restaurants for just a little bit more $$.
Value for money sushi at $20 with soba noodles as well not featured in this photo.
