𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐢 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 (4 ⭐️; $6) - Have always been a fan of their soft and fluffy brioche buns. Generously loaded with creamy cheese, earthy mushrooms, and rich umami flavour from the nori and bonito flakes. Sad to hear they’re closing this week
Saddened by their approaching closure (2 June), I am a little embarrassed that I only got down to visit them last weekend (the woes of a west-sider).
I also had to over-order and got their Croquette & Kani Sando ($16.20). Sandwiched in between 2 soft slices of toasted Japanese Milk Bread, was a crisp Potato Croquette with refreshing Kani Salad, slathered with torched Mentaiko Mayo and umami Ikura Shoyu Zuke. Can’t go wrong with savoury Mentaiko, thankfully it wasn’t overly salty or heavy. The croquette was nicely executed as well - crisp on the outside, tender and on the inside.

I had previously ordered their buns when they were still a home-based business so of course I had to try the signatures from Madu Bakery's dine-in menu. A crowd-favourite, the Cereal Prawn Croissant ($15.90) really delivered. Topped with sizeable plump prawns, the flaky buttery bake was well complemented with tangy drizzles of Yuzu Mayo, sliced Cheese, fragrant Toasted Cereal crumbs and Curry Leaves. The tiger prawns tasted fresh and I really enjoyed how juicy and sweet they were.
I really felt sad that they don't included tea inside the set meal (need to top up $2.90) 🥲 they have option for coffee only and so decided to choose coconut latte (less one shot) really got strong fragrance coconut smell fusion with coffee.
A part of high recommendation bread (umami nushroom - $6) from the staff. Really taste so good and addicting for bread. I never thought that I really choose right bread to eat. I felt that bread was really got japan vibes inside.
Really went for their matcha crossiant ($9.50) and just want to try it out for a part of bucket list lol. But then it's so good, creamy and milky texture for their matcha sauce. Their crossiant really so crispy and crunchy on outer filling. I felt that it was too much for me to eat finish and high recommended to share with your friend.
