Affordable and delicious Japanese cuisine in Marina with spectacular view of the Fountain of Wealth (the world’s largest fountain recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1998). The ambience and setting of the restaurant were casual and comfortable. Service was excellent. A great place to dine and chill out with family and friends. The sukiyaki hotpot set was value for money. The rich sukiyaki broth was comforting and delectable. The beef was tender and tasty. Onsen tamago was perfect. Tofu, mushrooms, carrots and assorted vegetables, all were fresh and delicious. Had chicken karaage as side dish. Chicken was tender and crispy. Not oily. The maccha cream latte was rich, delicious and velvety. All were beautifully presented. A great gastronomical experience plus the stunning view of the Fountain of Wealth completed a very satisfying meal. Worth every cent.
We were looking around the basement area of Suntec City for desserts and we chanced upon Maccha House! The restaurant seemed rather crowded and we were fortunate enough to be able to get the last table that was available!
We ordered the matcha tiramisu and it was a tiramisu dessert with a generous serving of matcha powder on top! The restaurant used ladyfingers for the cake, and mixed in a generous amount of mascarpone cheese. However, we think the sweetness from the cheese overpowered that of the matcha powder, which was a little strange as the matcha powder tasted relatively plain. Nonetheless, it was a pretty decent dessert and we enjoyed having the tea to clean our palate after finishing the cake!
Price-wise, we paid around $7++ which was pretty reasonable as the tiramisu dessert was actually pretty large and can even be shared amongst 2 since the mascarpone cheese can get a bit gelat after a while!
Matcha tiramisu @ $6.20
Actually wanted to have the crepe cake but it comes with a pot of tea and there's no ala carte option so went for this instead. It's light and the taste is all well balanced which is great for someone like me who's not a big fan of matcha (only there because friend suggested going there).
Friend did order the crepe cake and i had a small bite and totally love it too.
Will be back to try other items on the menu, either here or other outlets.
Had the craving for matcha hence headed to maccha house for dessert. Had the Soya Pudding ($5.80), Mile Crepe ($7.99) and Maccha Latte ($5.60).
Soya Pudding the brown sugar syrup is too sweet for my liking. Likewise for the Maccha Latte too. However, the Mile Crepe they nail it and it was delicious.
The Mile Crepe is new in their menu and it is a nice addition which I would go for it again.
Matcha latte was on the sweeter side.
The Warabi mochi/jelly was quite a disappointment as it’s not soft n bouncy. Tiramisu was still okay
This teriyaki chicken set gives you a 20% off the beverage you choose to buy. At $10, this chicken teriyaki set was decent and surprisingly worth the money. Although it is pricier than bentos you can get for takeaway elsewhere, considering the ambience and service you get in Suntec City, it is considerably worth it. The chicken was big, juicy, and drenched in a good amount of sweet teriyaki sauce. The onsen egg was a plus point too since not many bentos outside have this. Miso soup was salty, but good😂, and just simple with seaweed. They gave a little cake, which I didn’t really fancy as all I could taste was the bitter matcha powder, but I was surprised it was there anyway.
