Had an amazing dinner with a friend here where we had the fireline tasting menu (7 dishes + drink). It was fantastic!!! Lovely place and great dishes for a dinner date.

Standouts for me were the seafood dishes: Prawn platter was delicious and grilled so well. The sauce is so savoury. The woodfire scorched hor fun had seared scallops and was perfectly charred…Smoky prawn toast was both crisp and flavourful. We wiped the plates. 🤣

I enjoyed the attention to detail in these dishes and I had a lovely evening here, I felt well taken care of and would come back especially for that prawn platter (it was divine).

Pity that I can’t post more than 1 photo. I had a feast here with friends. The charred corn som tum (pictured) was punchy, tangy and refreshing and I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did. The moo ping smoked pork ribs were delicious, tender and fall-off-the-bone, the squid was grilled nicely and the shrimp omelette was savoury and crispy, even the prawns were bouncy. I also got the milo martini (great if you like something creamy and full of flavour in every sip!). We rounded off with lemongrass jelly which was perfect to cut through the heavy meal. Satisfying meal!

Found this to be a cosy restaurant tucked in the heart of MBFC and I was pleased with the Irish duck confit. Great blend of textures and savoury flavours with the sweet potato mash, edamame, chick peas and greens. The duck skin was also very crispy and the meat was tender.

I have to rave about the raspberry cheesecake parfait, which was a happy find. The sorbet was tangy and refreshing a nice balance to the cheesecake parfait.

I would recommend choosing the duck over the steak. Enjoyed myself here and good for cosy dinners.

The best thing was the broth that came in a sizzling hot pot. It was so packed with flavour and savoury, with a nice sweetness from the prawns. I got the Supreme Prawn Noodle, one of their signatures.

We were also instantly sold by the variety of side dishes and being huge ngoh hiang fans...got the tasting platter which was not bad and a generous portion for 2 people. The biggest standout for me was adding on cheesy otah, it was served warm and was so delicious. Fish cake was alright. Ended up being too much so we packed the platter home. 😅

Overall pleased with my first experience here. If you're looking for an elevated prawn mee – this is it. I'll be back for the broth. Expect a casual dining setting, nothing fancy ambience-wise but definitely worth a try because of the soup.

I had lunch with a friend here and was so impressed by their wagyu steak. I’m still thinking about how juicy and full of flavour it was from my first bite. I’m usually a tough critic on my steaks and hate when it tastes rubbery, but the steak I had here met my expectations and more — when seasoned with a little sea salt on the side, was SO savoury, smoked to perfection. I love a tender steak! Also, I liked that FBS was a 3min walk from botanics mrt, so it was very accessible. We had a series of dishes and on the whole was really satisfied with everything, the staff are nice and hospitable plus the food was served at just the right pace. For starters, we had the sourdough and it looks unassuming, but it was torched in front of our eyes, so the result of that was a crisp, perfectly buttered, just-enough portion to whet your appetite. This was served with the burrata, in little bite-sized pieces and was served with pesto, which was delicious. Cheesecake was homemade and of a firmer texture, balanced with yuzu (which I found quite zesty), and topped with tangy berries so that made for a rich, fuller flavour (but you’ll definitely want to share this dessert as it feels a bit much if just for 1 person). The star for me in all this was still the wagyu steak of course (I think this was the Denver for $68), which was so tender, as well as steak with fries ($32). The latter was still good but is firmer. Overall really enjoyed this cosy little steakhouse, nice for dates, both romantic or with good friends!

Firm believer that all good days begin with a cold pint. Please approach calmly with a snack.
