Feast in the East
We got our fill of carbs from the The gigantic prawns were fresh and crunchy, while the bee hoon and hor fun soaked up the gravy excellently.
We loved the meaty and juicy crab from the ๐๐ต๐ถ๐น๐น๐ถ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฏ, though the sauceโs sweetness couldโve been toned down a little.
Our favourite dish was the Served in a claypot, the fish boasted crispy skin and firm, flakey flesh. Combined with the fragrant gravy and creamy brinjal, it was a match made in heaven.

Kao Ge Yu offers a variety of ๐ฃ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ง๐ฆ๐ฏ (jelly) as desserts and they are a must try. Sweet and refreshing, the ๐ข๐๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ต๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐ป ($5.80) was exceedingly enticing and perfect for beating the heat.
We also liked the ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฝ๐ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฃ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ป ($7.80), which were absolutely addictive.
The ๐ ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ผ๐ฝ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฟ๐ถ๐บ๐ฝ ($19.80) was a winner. The fresh prawns, beautifully butterflied, and scallops, served with glass noodles, had their flavours enhanced by the scrumptiously spicy sauce.
Among the grilled fish flavours, the Classic Sauerkraut is an astute choice, while the Chongqing and the Hot Mala are ideal for those who like to set their tongues on fire. We picked the wildly popular
We had the Set Meal For One ($28), which was actually big enough for two, so Iโm guessing the Set Meal For Two ($48) can feed four. The meaty Seabass, sensationally soft and moist, soaked up the delicious flavours of the broth (just mildly spicy IMO).
Formerly a hawker stall, Kao Ge Yu is now a restaurant with two outlets. Specialising in grilled fish in different flavours, it also offers some side dishes and desserts.
And how can we not order nasi lemak when weโre at Crave? You can never go wrong with the ๐ฅ๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ ($8.90), which has a fried chicken wing, fish fillet, bergedil and fried egg in addition to the ikan bilis and cucumber slices. So hearty!
The ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐๐ฎ ($6.90) was even more exquisite. The thick bee hoon, having soaked up all the savoury, spicy goodness of the sauce, together with the tender chicken leg, was a truly magnificent medley.
With silky smooth rice vermicelli and succulent chunks of beef, the ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ณ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ป ($7.90) was bound to please. The rendang itself, fabulously fragrant and flavourful, made this dish supremely scrumptious.
