This was rich in flavour and the noodles were smooth and chewy. This originally comes with 面线 but I asked for the thick noodles and I enjoyed it a lot. I would have liked it more if it was more spicy!
Amping up the heat at Changi Jewel is Shang Social’s mapo tofu, a blazing scorcher that’ll ignite your tastebuds with silken tofu and tender minced beef drenched in an oil-slicked lake of piquant, fiery goodness. The interplay of sour, spicy and numbing flavours as well as sensations is spot on, making a healthy heapful of steamed white rice mandatory for soaking up all dat sauce.
Thanks to @blessincasia for the invite and @shangsocial for hosting!

There's a hidden treasure beneath all those freshly-shaved truffles (swipe for photo) - there's a slow-cooked egg to smear all over the nanatsuboshi rice to hold them, the wagyu, and the truffles together. I first had this at Izy Dining and Bar, the concept that preceded Izy Fook, and I found it to be as good as before.

this was really filling. love the charred bits on the chicken and the onsen egg mixed really well with the rice. really generous with the chicken. only complaint is that it gets kinda one dimensional so it'd be great if you accompanied it with other sides/drinks!

Situated in Kam Leng Hotel along Jalan Besar, this modern Chinese restobar shakes up old-school zi char with its innovative spin. We recommend giving the Awesome Silky Egg Hor Fun (from $7.80) a go. The rice noodles are deep-fried before getting tossed with gravy, resulting in an interestingly silky yet crunchy texture. For something to share over happy hour Draft Beer (from $10 a pint), get Chef J’s BBQ Pork ($14.80) for sweet, smoky pork jowl slices to munch on.

Queues move fairly quickly here, and very soon you'll find yourself seated, with a generously-portioned plate of Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Berempah ($12.80). The crispy and juicy chicken thigh is the star of the show, featuring runny sunny side up and fragrant coconutty rice as excellent supporting cast members. Pair that with the sweet but kicky sambal and you're golden. End the meal with their delish Cendol ($3.80) that sees finely shaved ice topped with freshly squeezed coconut milk, homemade pandan rice flour jelly and just enough gula melaka to balance out the milkiness.
